Your kids are absolutely ADORABLE!! You are a blessed man....

After out daughter passed, our best friends children "adopted" us. They are now 16, 14,and 12. They run us ragged. They think we should be able to keep up with them what ever they decide to do!! We are getting ready to go to a basketball game in just a few min.

The ages of yours must keep you hopping busy!!

I teach 5th grad at a Private Christian School here in Missouri. I have FINALLY gotten board approval to hatch eggs in my classroom and set up a small brooder so they can watch them grow. The kids are so excited! I was raised on a farm and it never really occurred to me that so many never get to experience the things I have truly taken for granted. My biggest problem now is figuring out what to put in the incubator and what day to put them in so the students can "see" them hatch.

i also grew up on a farm and feel the same way u do...their are alot young kids that dont get to see stuff about hatching so thats why i spend my time and show the girls..my 5 yearold wants to start showing so i been teaching her alot of stuff about it plus shes the daddy's girl so she also collects everyones eggs and helps me pack and she is very careful so she has learned alot...

It is fantastic that you get them involved. There are so many out there that would be afraid to let one so small handle eggs. After all they ARE just eggs and the knowledge you are imparting and the memories you are making are priceless.

yes the memories are..I love for them to be involve with it atleast when they get older i will know what their doing hopefuly...

Love it when kids get involved. Only one of my 4 is interested in the chickens, but then again they are teens and nothing much interests them.

I hatched eggs in my first grade classroom for 6 years and the kids always got something out of it. Those former students still ask about their "chickens" and some have come to visit the ones that hatched in their "year". Some years went well and others not (when they changed the heating system and put the temperature down 20 degrees during the weekends did NOT go well).

That's part of the reason I wanted to have chickens again, so my kids could experience what I did when I was younger, I learned so much from raising chickens as a teen, life lessons, too, I hope my kiddos can learn from that, too...
