I don't always do box in box. If its just 6+ I usually use one box but make sure there's enough packing. Lately I've been doing box in box especially for large shipments.

I use burrito bubble wrap method. Basically half a sheet of bubble wrap that the egg is encased in. It's wrapped in nice as snug but not too tight and secured with a piece of tape. I then make sure they all fit snugly in their box which has packing and then pack tht box usually in a #7 and make sure its nice and snug.

The worst that I've had have usually just by had enough packing.

I think the worst was last summer when someone set me 2dz in a foam shipper that was too loose for the eggs and didnt have ANY extra packing or the little plugs. :sick it was in a bag and dripping. Needless to say I didn't set either of the two that survived but I'm pretty sure that they weren't viable.

I hated the sawdust method (bubble wrapped eggs and then layered in sawdust) when I went to unpack my eggs. I actually don't mind it now. I see the genius in it. I just hate the darn mess.

I'm not a fan of shredded paper or packing peanuts for the same reason. BUT they work. It's when it's super tiny confetti that it makes me want to :barnie

I also wish more people shipped eggs upright. I really feel like that and securing them so they don't bounce around like crazy really helps but it also depends greatly on USPS handling of said eggs.

And I also get frustrated when eggs are tapped so much that I almost break them trying to set them free. DH has a good ole laugh at me most of the time. :gig

I'd also like to point out that this in no way is directed at anyone. Just general statements.

The tiny shredded paper is like that too. I personally like to use grocery bags for packing material. I can deplete my hoard in 2-3 packages though. Things just shift too easily with peanuts.
