I incubate them standing up with small end down, but I am curious if anyone else does it differently.

Me too, but then I do duck eggs that way too. I'm waiting on a shipment of 11 midgets from a guy that got one of my toms, I love getting paid in eggs, and then I am putting thirty six more in. Don't remember what is already cooking, but I can't not have poults running around, bouncing out of their brooder, whistling for me, and pooping on the floor. My husband would think he walked into the wrong house if I didn't.

Yes I'm a turkey hoarder. :)

I WANT to love turkeys!!! But so far turkey love eludes me...

But I am hoping to have good turkey vibes with ProfTi and krazy's eggs in my bator now!

Ok....so speaking of turkeys.... I am having a little problem at the O K Turkey Corral. My pure Bourbons have decided they have had quite enough of my egg stealing and shipping and have gone broody! They won't get off the box and they won't lay. I waited about a week, thinking that this might be another mid-season "coffee break", but nothing. At all. I kick them off the nest every day. They harrumph at me and go find another corner, but they are keeping those skinny turkey legs firmly shut. My mixed pen is churning out the eggs, it's just my pures. Nobody told them (not that they care) that I have several orders to fill before they are allowed to go broody. And they certainly forgot to notice that there is still a foot of snow on the ground. Any suggestions???? I know I owe some of you the pures. What do people do when they have orders and turkey's revolt?

That's why I stopped offering mine. I have orders to fill and they only lay so many. Plus mine went on strike when I penned them up and haven't gave me a single egg since. But, the crazy things were going out into the woods and laying there eggs.

wait till they start again. They will in time

I have a Sportsman incubator issue that I hope someone can help me with.

My humidity is 64% but because of the forced air, the chicks are getting shrink wrapped unless they hatch really quick. I just helped 6 chicks out - one died and the rest I helped are questionable. What can I do to help deflect the air or something so this stops?!

Do you have the vent flaps in the back of it like my dickey does that you can adjust.

Silly little broodies, I just keep pulling them out of the nest and bugging them til they give up and uncross those long legs of theirs. Actually I lock them away from the nests for several hours a day. They run around their coop all frantic at first, but eventually forget they wanted to sit on their loaf and are back to running around getting into trouble. Soon enough they are back to laying. The only thing is I need to open a new nest box for them. They won't go back into the one were they lost their eggs. It's kinda cute and kinda sad.
