Thanks guys. I plan to give her another chance. She is a Silver Fox Rabbit. Beautiful girl and big. At least I know she can produce chocolates with that male.

On another note, I just bought me a nice solid oak coop for my Black Bresse. Yeah me.

Morning guys! I woke up to 7 beautiful dead baby buns

She didn't cover them at all and they got cold. One was a beautiful little chocolate too. I'm hoping this is just first time mom error.
:hugs I don't own them but have heard this happens sometimes with new moms especially. I have a friend who lost 13 Flemish giant kits the same way about a week ago. Hard lesson to learn. :hugs

Temp and humidity is no different than duck and chicken for incubation. (we keep ours at 25-35% on average

Lockdown should be goaled at 70%.

Goose eggs should ALWAYS be on their sides for the entire time (incubation and lockdown)

Hand turned 3-5 times a day if laying still, hand turned once a day if laying in an auto turner

day 7 forward you need to start cooling and misting them

be sure weigh them before you set them, trace the air cells and weigh during incubation to make sure they are loosing proper weight

they take FOREVER to hatch once it starts (just about the full 3 days)

:weee thanks COF I had a feeling you could help. I actually marked them on four sides to turn them really evenly. Does that make sense? Or is that silly?

Advice needed: I have about 30 chickens and 9 turkeys in lockdown. One of the chicks hatched last night and is stuck in the rack, she can't seem to get up or move off her back. She seems to have great muscle tone and is trying hard but not getting anywhere. Should I rescue her?

1. I have a Sportsman Incubator.
2. I don't see any others pipping yet except a turkey who will be out in an hour or so, but I can't see the backside of the eggs well to determine pipping.
3. The incubator is at 65%. I am trying to get it higher for the turkeys, but the humidity bucket I am using doesn't seem to be working correctly right now.

It looks like either one wing or her head is trapped in the plastic setting tray. What is your 2 cents?

I have always taken chicks out as they hatch and I've never had a problem with others not hatching.

I would go in snatch it out quick as possible. and throw in a wet folded paper towel to make up for the humidiity I let out, I would put the paper towel in when I snatched the chick out, I have also used water soaked tampons
