sorry flocks about your eggs... I had that happen for the NYD hatch. It was from swap eggs too.... had a very bad hatch.

We missed a tornado today (went to eat first on the other side of town) but came home to flooding and no power...with a full incubator!! Luckily it wasn't off too awfully long, and we aren't very cold here. But it is the first that it has been basically close to full. And a separate little bator with sebbie eggs in it

I just hope there were no fatalities due to the tornado... saw some trees on cars, and trees through roofs... I am used to hurricanes but not tornadoes.

Oh my goodness!

I hope the eggs are all okay!!!

It was eggs from a swap, but the eggs I got from you were in there covered in goo. Kids pretty bumming too because the exploded eggs were on his list of breeds. Guess he's not getting any of them. And from the eggs you sent he so wanted a Moose.

I'm so sorry you had that happen. I can't even imagine! I panicked for a second but I haven't sent you eggs in over a month nor have I had any that explode. Two exploded and more were weepy? That's not a good sign at all! I can only imagine the mess and the loss of eggs.

...... seriously folks, I do have a question: what is the difference between polish chickens and houdan chickens? to me they look the same.

Don, Since you asked "seriously" I will give you some of the Standard of Perfection differences:

Polish: Developed in Eastern Europe as an ornamental fowl
may be bearded or non-bearded
have four toes
come in many recognized varieties/colors
should weigh cocks 6 lbs hens 4 1/2 lbs

Houdans: Developed in Houdan, France as a meat and egg fowl
bearded
have five toes
only recognized in black and mottled
should weigh cocks 8 lbs hens 6 1/2 lbs

Similiarities:
both have crests
both lay white eggs
