Hi Guys!

I have my first case of turkey spraddle leg.  I have done the toes, but not the splay.  I have watched a couple of videos on it.  I have seen that some people keep them confined during treatment.  I was thinking the Coban is a good method.  Any advice???

I recently used vetwrap on a chick and it worked perfectly! It was great because there was a little more give than the bandaid but not too much and it wasn't affected my te pine dust from the pellets

Great job! Everyone makes me make the cake, but I only use buttercream. I don't like fondant and never tried anything else. I would love to get paid for it though. I made my wedding cake. That is as good as it ever got.
I like to use buttercream for the crumb coat then cover with the modeling chocolate. You should try it, I was not a fan of the fondant either. My wedding cake is the first large/professional style cake I ever made. It was a very simple design, I though I might be a little busy that day

This is my splayed leg poult te feed store gave me. He literally was the worse case I had dealt with.
I never had good luck with wobbles. I have tried band aids, pipe cleaners, and tape. Tape worked well this time around. I use painters tape to make a ring around the leg just under the hock (comes off easy) then packing tape to tether the legs together. I make sure to put two pieces sticky side together to no sticking to down. Each day I give him a little more tester in between his legs. He is able to stand now, where as he couldn't stand at all or move when I got him. He still wants to stick that foot out so I will keep him hobbled for a few more days. He has an angel wing too.
He is a broad breasted, so I will have to butcher him early, or he'll be having major hip or leg problems later on.

Here is a better pic of the actual tape. You couldn't really see it in the first picture.

I wish I hadn't taken a before picture. His legs where both way out to the side like he was Doing a split. He just couldn't get them underneath him

LOVE your cakes!!!! I am creative but not with cooking. I am in awe of people who can cook.
The things you make will last a life time, food only lasts a few days.

I did an Easter pysanky workshop yesterday but only 4 people showed up. Was probably more fun that way anyway, I get stressed when in front of a group. Got to try pysanky on duck eggs

and because there were so few people, I got to take about 8 eggs home with me. The texture is different from chicken eggs. smoother. takes the dye a little differently.

I sometimes wish we all lived closer so I could invite y'all over. I just cleaned the house and it looks okay for about 10 minutes until the dogs come back inside. Have them down with the goats right now. not sure if they will protect them or not...rather lazy. but some of the things that start to leaf out early are doing so...wild roses, honeysuckle, that sort of thing and the goats are so excited to have something besides hay. need to work on the brooders...the 41 chicks are outgrowing the current one and developing the flying ability so need to make a cover. we threw this one together in about 5 minutes when I realized the plastic tubs we had been using just weren't going to cut it with this many chicks.
I would have loved to go to your workshop!!! I agree that we all need to live a lot closer, it would be super fun to have neighbors like you guys. Could you imagine what a BYC community would be like. We would not even have to ship eggs to swap, we could just hand them over the fence or drop them off on the way by.

I believe I am done for the day. My back is screaming but at least half of the compost pile has been restacked. It's amazing the critters living in it. Tons of worms and saw loads of centipedes too. Had to be careful.

Went and met CrazyPetLady today to pick up some swaps! It was a pleasure meeting her and looking forward to seeing the eggs hatch. I also picked up the mystery chicks I claimed! Here are some pics. If I remember correctly trio of rhodebars, pair of CCL, pair of tolbunts, a russian orloff, and a basque!
