Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I could ship you some Arkansas Blues. They seem to be hatching on the West Coast quite well, lol!
That is my problem with the CCLs. I have got eggs from several sources and just flat out can't get them to hatch. I have even handcarried some and still have no luck. The other eggs set with them all hatch, but none of the gorgeous blue ones

Ugh. Has anyone shipped me eggs recently? Anything shipped to Bellefonte? Because I apparently had a box of eggs sitting on the porch at the prison house for goodness only knows how long. I have no "missing" eggs from anyone who sent me DC numbers (that I can remember), so I have absolutely no idea where this box is from. It's shipped from (initials and state removed, package has been identified). Please let me know!

Why are some people SO passive aggressive?!?! My neighbor and landlord sometimes drives me nuts! I love her really I do but why send me an email about things that are bugging you instead of taking to me about it when you were at y house earlier that day AND we just had a phone conversation?!?!? :barnie I just don't get it! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of conflict but seriously?!?!? Just say hey can we fix this or change that? It just makes me really question buying this property sometimes.

Rant over!

I have decided I am not meant to have Basque.  I have set about 40 eggs from three different people and have managed to hatch 2 chicks.  I found one of those with a severely dislocated knee yesterday.  It is still getting around fine, but I am afraid I am going to have to cull it.  I have 8 eggs in the incubator right now that I keep holding on to but am pretty sure that none of them are developing.  I don't know what I am doing wrong because everyone else is getting excellent hatches from these.

When mine are out of quarantine and fertility checked I will send you some until you get a good bunch! After all you're gonna get my son a Mini Moose!

So far the eggs that we got right away were good, but I haven't checked since the first week. They got to their new digs later this week, so we can go from there.

I am going to have to find someone local and get chicks if I want them.

On a much sadder note for me, my oldest hen Georgia is dying. She was part of the original chicks we bought 3 years ago to start all this madness. I noticed her walking funny yesterday. She has a very bloated belly area which means most likely internal laying. I can't believe I cried yesterday over a chicken. She is more then that though. She never acted like a chicken, more like a dog. Always followed you around. Jumped for worms. I'm loosing my baby girl. I have to find a nice spot to bury her when she goes. She's the only one I ever named. Named her after a lady I work with. They both have attitude and personality. Why must chickens hide their illnesses? I could have saved her.

Sorry to hear that, I feel for you really on both fronts. First we are back to over two feet of snow again and second my daughter's hen just died this weekend. I cried so hard, but not really for the bird more for my daughter. I had no clue what to do. Not only did she truly love that bird, held her every single day but we just had to put her dog down last month. She took the dog's passing so hard she still cries about him, we have issues in school almost every day. It also doesn't help when she takes things way harder than most other children, they seem to affect her differently. Cutie was also a lap dog kind of pet, she had mites and was doing better than two other hens. We woke up Sat morn just to find she had died what's even more sad I just got some ivomec and drench that morning to use on her. The other two still look worse and for longer than she ever was. I just don't get it.
Would any one with Porcelian silkies like to do a private swap??? My daughters(sebrightmom) shed burned down, and she lost all her chicks, baby turkeys, and all her kids show birds, but the worse was she lost all of her porcelian silkies, and those are the ones my grandson loved most. He is really upset over losing them. He is 6yrs old and I'd like to try to replace them for him. Please email me at [email protected] if you'd like to trade
I am so sorry about everyone's losses! I have been very sad reading the posts this morning.

Awww, I wonder why they're not hatching for you? :( Maybe when I gather the courage to ship chicks I can send some to you. I shipped juveniles, but I haven't been brave enough for chicks yet.
