Do you have one developing or are we talking future claim that should ship next week? I'd say get another if you don't have one hatching soon. They'll be VERY different in size at that point. If you have one developing from me then

I was talking future claims that are coming whenever. I wasn't thinking about while they were little. I was more worried about at 6 to 8 week size.

My turkey is doing great. I just moved him to the brooder with the chicks. I am amazed at how strong the little bugger was and how strongly he struggled to get away from being held. Fingers crossed that I get another. If not, do I need to go buy another poult at the feed store to keep him/her from being the only turkey until I hatch the BR from Aye?

my oldest hen was raised alone with chickens...the other poults I ordered with her died soon after I got them. She is just fine acts like a normal turkey...lol

I process my own chickens as long as I have latex gloves on nothing bothers me, well except the killing part that part someone else has to do either my SIL or my hubby. Other than the killng for me the hardest part was cutting off the legs it took me awhile to get over that. I use to work in a turkey slaughter house for Thanksgiving and we did over 1000 birds a day- you get over the sqeamish parts real quick. The only thing with that many birds though my knuckles would be bruised to the hilt turkeys have real sharp ribs. As llong as I have someone there to talk to I can go in to auto mode and then I don't think about it so it's not so bad.

I tell ya now it is worse to pull eggs on dang day 18 and crack them open to find them not only cLear but also UNFERTILE! I can tell ya right now to ALL people who ever buy from me...or swap with me..if my eggs for whatever reason EVER turn up infertile just tell me I will dang sure replace eggs always. Period I mean you move Roos...switch Roos....things happen...when they do know it and fix it! Grr end of rant.

I didn't think so but ie been so backward lately with all this house mess I thought maybe if sent you a hens choice and forgotten. I know I've sent one or two out. I'm having fertility issues with my big boy. Ie had some develop but most are clear. I think he's so bloody busy strutting he's not getting them covered. I may have to remove him and let my other boy have a go. Though that could be why a few are fertile..... Who knows. If I get anymore clears this week, I'm pulling him out.

Speaking of house mess and then dropping the subject quickly, I hope you are in better spirits. I know it has to stink to lose your time and effort, but you are in a place where you want to be and doing what you want to do.
