Let me know how much shipping etc would be on some cuttings! I would love some. What about curly willows? I could send you cuttings? They grow super fast, my privacy fence is already on its way to making some privacy.
Crab, shrimp...Maryland! Oh my gawsh!!! I miss visiting my relatives up there.I really need to plan a vacation and go pig out!I have never seen potatoes and corn made with crabs but then again here in Maryland, we steam them.![]()
I would watch them very carefully. I had my choc orp bantys in with everyone else and found 2 of them trampled to death 2 mornings ago. Before I got them seperated, I found a silkie dead this morning.Just wanted to show everyone that button quail babies and bantam babies CAN get along together. The button quails hatched on the 21st and the silkies hatched yesterday. The button quails think they've found their mommies and the silkies get really upset when I try to separate them from the quails. Not sure what I'm going to do about housing for this very unique flock of five.

We have brought them up by gunnysack and had crawfish boils up here. First time we did it, (I'm showing my age here.) 25 years ago, the people we invited looked at us like we were crazy because we had red potatoes and corn on the cob in the same pot with "crawdads" as they are called here. Now, people ask us if we are doing one this year.
I bet you can't catch them in a ditch with a net and some bacon there, can you? LOL
DH uses cheap hotdogsOne of these days, I am determined to learn Cajun cooking. My DH had his mission (Mormon) in LA, primarily in New Orleans.they converted him. What a place to send a teenage boy to! Anyhow, I keep thinking that he would like to have some and it is just beyond my understanding. Maybe I'll drag him down there for a vacation some day.
I have been able to catch crawdads (we call them that here too...) in lakes around here. I haven't done it in a long time. I used to use a KFC bone on a string.
I think he's quite a handsome guy!Had to skip to the end again.. sorry!!!
I saw a few posts about bad hatches... I too had a bad hatch this last week.. my chicks were drying out too, I had switched to a different bator that I use as a hatcher and switched back when they all shrinkwrapped... VERY frustrating, especially when this last group were from Papabrooder and Juststruttin!!!! I managed to save one SFH from juststruttin and it is doing good tonite... but still, I was devastated, to say the least!!
I put my Easter hatch in lockdown this morning ( I set a little late) and added an extra sponge and am watching the humidity like a hawk now... It's been very frustrating b/c the couple of hatches before these last 2 were really good!!!
Hope you don't mind if I share a few pics... it seems like everytime I'm on noone is here and no one comments on my posts, but oh well... I don't mind whining to myself either, it's a good stress-reliever, lol!!
Here's my French Blue Copper roo... I really like him, but also appreciate any feedback you all might have about him... My boys named him Tornado... he got some frostbite this winter in the -18 temps we had, but didn't lose as much of his comb as I thought he might...
Some of my EE chicks, I think they are feathering quite nicely!!
And with that, good night!!
