Some days I feel so invisible on here. Yes, I'm having one of those morning.

Think I'll just go have coffee and hope the day goes better.

ARE YOU KIDDING? I am sure that everyone is much like me YOU are the LEAST invisible person on here!! MY gosh I pay attention to EVERY post you send on here..I am SURE EVERY person does too! We LOVE you!! I hope your day gets better...

Gable..............wild horse??? How long has it been coming around?

For about a year. Some people moved off and left it. I think there is two of them, sometimes you see it with a small black pony mare. DH thinks I am crazy.... I finally got proof...lol

I think my post got lost last night when everyone was quietening down for the evening--I need help with lavender and lacing genetics.

I have a barred lav EE that is lightly barred, but really red combed.  The two seem to clash as far as telling me the sex of this chick.  Barring looks female, but comb male? 

I also hatched some of our chicks from before we separated our birds.  Lav orp hen with a GLW.  Will that lav gene be in the black chicks and the gold chicks?  Will any of them feather out with lacing?

I wish I could help! One day I'll delve into genetics.

swindledana, I hatched a chick from you a few months ago and I have no clue what she is. The egg wasn't marked at all. At least she's a hen.

Do you have a picture of her? Maybe I can tell from a picture.

Yes, the gelding will cow kick if you get close to him. He will also try to come at you with his mouth open.

umm doubtful that it is WILD actually if it was owned then abandoned then those people might be able to be tracked (forwarding address) and prosecuted! you can prolly catch them with a feed bucket...and a rope if you don't have halters. Yeah, we have had horses for many years.
It will not respond to a feed bucket. I tried, long time ago. It has a freeze brand on one side of the neck. I am pretty sure it was an adopted wild horse. Those people move state to state to avoid conviction now. For animal theft and abuse. Or so it was said through the Old Timer grape vine.

We live in Texas I couldn't believe when I moved here how many times I would see horses just running down the road.Or grazing on the side of the road...kinda drove me nuts because I have horses and know about them everyone around evn if they helped expected us to help catch them...I have even had someone dump colts in our "compound" They had to BACK their trailer down our road them release them...I was ticked cause they COULD have put them in the round pen...ugh but didn't. I am pretty proud of all our neighbors right now,except for two days ago no one has had their horse loose in a while...two days ago a man showed up on my porch, wanting to know if my horse was loose? I checked and all mine were there... so I went with him to see if I could identify her....nope...I had no idea...people are pretty good about helping to get horses back where they go around here...people will dump though....unfathomable to me. Makes me wanna just
