My oh my what a busy couple of days it has been!!

So sorry to hear about all the chicks, Profti... With all the insanity of it, I got my birds the next day from COF... and they came on Express Mail... Everyone I talked to was extremely nice and helpful, the guy that called from the PO said in his message he didn't want them to sit in the PO all night and hoped I could come get them that night. And I don't recall hearing over and over stories about this happening to chick boxes. It seems that there is someONE at the hub in TN that is giving the whole operation a really bad rap. Not that the difficulty getting information helps the reputation of the rest of them..

Or maybe I'm really naive, but I do think most people try to do their jobs right, and those one or 2 make a bad name for everyone else... not that they're all exemplary, mind you, especially when it comes to the loss of so many chicks which appears quite felonous...

My birds must not have gone through TN, they must have been flown straight from Orlando to SLC, so it makes me wonder if there's a way to get them to NOT go through TN?? Just wandering thoughts here... And makes me hope my chicks from CPL and BM6 could go someplace else!!

Also wanted to say so sorry to madam that you are not feeling well, I got a cold I swear 5 times this winter, it was ridiculous and I was DONE being sick, that's for sure!!!

I go outside to my serema pen and this is what I found. They have all gone broody at the same time. Not sure how many eggs they are sitting on.

I just wonder which one is going to claim the chicks when they hatch.

I have a question, I have someone that wants to order chicks. I want to require a deposit, as I have gotten burned with this before. How much do you ask for a deposit? I was thinking 50%, but am not sure. I was hoping someone with more experience with this could give me pointers.

For me the deposit depends on the chuck, but generally 25-50 percent

That's just too cute. They really are some cute tiny little chickens aren't they. I think I might want them for myself. I do like migety types of things.

I know Bryce at Ewe Crazy Farms charges 50% deposit on his chicks. I think that's reasonable.

Depends on what it is. If I do a special hatch for someone I require 50% non refundable deposit. If its something I plan to hatch anyway with the plan to sell open then I don't have any deposit.

For example I have poult orders that I'm currently filling, but anything left over goes towards my thanksgiving orders. Now I have so done that wants khaki Campbell's. we have no plans to keep more Han a few for ourselves as replacements, so then I would ask for a deposit.

If so done wants me to hatch their eggs and I have plenty off room (yah right) then I do it on 50s. In other words I keep half of everything I hatch for them. I have this happen more than anything else. Silly people just don't know ow fun it is.
