Noon postal guarantee has come and gone now. Tracking says just that they left cleaveland and nothing else. Called the inspector general to inform that rain, sleet or snow I fully expect they will personally find my birds and deliver them to me tonight. He had they gall to ask me I would give permission for the staff in Tennessee to give them food and water. Ummmmm.......let me think about that a minute....... I told him that was a violation of about 5 postal codes and he said he was not really familiar with all the postal regulations. Hmmmmmm.... I am thinking that I wish the police was not that familiar with the speed limit. It is amazing how govermental agency's get to pick and choose.

Wait. . . Isn't it nice that he asked to give them food and water? I mean no its not legal but it personally I would tell him thank you for caring enough to ask. He prolly doesn't know anything about chickens and was trying to be as helpful as he could at that particular time. As someone who worked in a post office we catch a lot of flack for things that aren't our fault and sometimes for even trying to be helpful which is perhaps the worst thing.
It's not one person who delivers your mail it's a network. Networks sometimes get complicated and require time to fix. so Things aren't as simple as guy A has your package it's group of guys A in sub group Y on the red line have your package and we have to figure out which one before they all get off work.

So, they found my birds on Tennessee after I got the inspector general agent to call. They will be pwraonally escorted to the plane in about 2 hours. I am sure of this. I had three separate entities involved. Good news....they are all alive. I happened to know this because they pictures of their employee opening my box with all the birds in it. I kinda thought it was a Federal crime to open someones mail? Get this....there are four button quail in the box. Can you imagine opening that box with 4 quail in a huge airport warehouse? I cant believe they didnt escape and run amuk everywhere. How dumb are these people anyway. Apparently putting water and toxic grapea in the box is postal policy. Right from the mouth of the inspector, he maintained this even after I qouted the postal policy on it. My birds are alive, so I am goid but the just keep digging a hole for themselves deeper and deeper.

I did get a good photo of my little liliac peeking out of the box, so I am back to turkey tango.

Yes! And I did thank them profusely last week when they did this for two other boxea of birda that they held for three days. The only problem with their helpfulness is that they left the water in the box with the birds, put them on a plane to minnesota. 25 birds arrive soaking wet on the tarmac in 28 degree weather killing 16 birds. Another box arrived opened with half of the birds missing....only the rare half. So a week ago, I would have been and was thrilled by their support. After that, I prefer to take my chances. My birds would have been better off.

I highly doubt that 2 or 3 turkeys would constitute a "significant" change!! Afterall they are considered poultry... the next year, if they have babies well... that's not significant either!! You just don't want to open up a 10,000 bird breeding facility, now that would be significant!!

Hubby doesn't bother with the chickens but has expressed an interest in turkeys!
