Hi, everyone! I just skipped 17 pages of chat. We have had a busy day. The Mayo clinic has extended our stay until Monday! OUCH! DH is going to have to do a one way car rental back to Arkansas, and I will have to drive home after we get out of our last tests and doctor consult on Monday. It is about a 12 hour drive. I then have to be at work at about 6:00 AM on Tuesday to try to get caught up with my cost estimate that has to be finished by Tuesday morning.

I'm not sure what to do sitting in a hotel room for most of the weekend in Rochester,MN. DS has to do multiple blood and urine tests.

We are looking at multiple trips up here. Finances are going to be strained to the max. Goodbye any vacation time for DH and me this year. We will have to alternate making the trips up.

Profti,

Got any ideas for good places to see, eat, etc.?

Turkeys are absolutely amazing. My protector tom is a red bourbon. He sure keeps abnoxious neighbor off my property. I would say one of the bigger heritage breeds. Big enough to be intimidating, and heritage to add the intelligence and energy.

Turkey it is then :) pretty sure they don't sell heritage breeds at my local feed store though :/ so I guess I'll just have to settle for a regular one.

Holy cow there's a lot going on today.

Horrible dog accident, please post results of the cracked egg hatch. I agree with warm, wet paper towels - it helped some of mine once, for what it's worth. Very pretty baby that did hatch.

Horrible car news. Ugh, I have no idea what I'd do, seriously. I'm so sorry.

My Narragansetts used to perch way up in a tree but now they don't fly up at all, not sure why. The younger Bourbon Red never did. I did give them more things to stand on in their pen, and they love that. They like to stand on things, not the ground....turkeys are the best entertainment! Love mine, have a bunch of eggs developing right now - exciting!

I hope all the lost birds and eggs are found in good shape.

I have 3 Royal Palm turkey poults hatched and the 4th is pipped!

Question for the turkey people: how long can I expect my turkeys to keep laying eggs?
