Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I have a question. Are we supposed to use this thread for received/sent/feedback instead of the Feedback thread? Because I wanted to make sure that Madamwlf knew that not only did I receive some awesome eggs packed awesomly, but that almost all of them are showing development!!! For me with a horrible history of almost ZERO hatches, it's kinda amazing!

I'm reading all the hints and tips yall give, and trying so hard to be a good chicken mama. There's some concentration and memory issues hindering me, but I want to be able to swap eggs with everyone someday.

you need to describe it the correct way.

you didn't: "stay home with the kids because you couldn't afford daycare"

you: "took a year off from working outside the home because it made financial sense."

:smack

Lol! Thank you! Sounds much better than "my broke *** couldn't pay for daycare for two kids, gas to and from work, etc, etc". We did talk about it... I would literally be working to put my kids through daycare... and they feed them all processed junk. I'd rather stay home and grow our own food, work from home, etc. Plus they get the pre-education, care and clean food that we want them to have.

I have had several turkeys like that; chirp, chirp, chirp.  They stopped only when I held them.  I think that mine are just needy little buggers.....

But turkeys do that because they LOVE you. This chick wants nothing to do with me. If we keep it I'm thinking it needs a name like chatty Kathy or whinny Wendy. And who couldn't love a turkey whistle?

This constant obnoxious chitter is driving me crazy. It's that high pitched unhappy sound that you know something is wrong, but there is nothing wrong.

I hear you. Try putting a small floppy and fluffy stuffed animal in there for it to snuggle against and hide under. It's helped my loud talkers in the past.

Wow! So it's that really high pitched screeching? Do you have more than one brooder? Maybe one with either older or younger chicks? I have had some drama queens that have settled if I put them with different birds. Lots of them liked the older birds because the cuddled in, some like the smaller birds to be the cuddler. I have also had good luck settling them with a mirror and a teddy bear.

It's in with chicks of varying size and age and turkeys that hatched with it. It's not alone, it's got buddies, it's just a whiny little twerp. It can cuddle with any of the others and it does, but since it keeps trilling like something is wrong I'm sorely tempted to put it by itself.

I have three brooders a set up on the house and three down in the barn. It's obviously too cold for a week old chick to be down in the barn or I would move it down with the ones there.

Oh and yes it's that really high pitched shrieking.
