Okay ordered my incubator on the 9th it got shipped the 10th.
It's now the 17th and its been sitting in California for 3 days . . . ***. Good thing I told the lady shipping my eggs to wait till Monday to shop them.

today was a good day.
Had a company meeting but no one got fired or laid off (everyone was nervous as to the meaning of the unusual meeting yesterday afternoon) the Chicks remaining seem healthy and no one is pooping blood any more. And the guy who came to repair the phone line by mistake let the goats out but they didn't get into the mountain laurel (whew!)

Poor DH.
he was digging posts for a gate for me 4 days ago and cut the phone line, which was also the internet connection. We have been cut off from the world (only at home) for 4 days.
I have to admit, I never would have guessed they'd have run it there, through the woods. it's like they took a circumvent route to get to the back of the house. how weird.

Oh, well. have it back now!

Hello, all! Thank goodness this week is on the down slide. It's been a rough one. Work has been absolutely crazy, and I don't expect that it will get any better until next year. I'm an insurance agent and one of our major carriers has pulled out of the state so we have to move all of our clients to other companies as they come up for renewal. It is a stressful situation for both me and my clients! I'm glad to be off work and headed to the ballpark!

Rachael - It's good to see you posting. I hope you're feeling better! Take care of yourself!

Susan- It sounds like you have a ton going on right now also! I hope your health is better and you get things balanced out soon.

Ok so I am way behind on everything as usual.... Pm's included. So if you have not gotten an answer from me, you will at some point. I would rather not say how far behind I am. If there is a swap that you think I should have sent out to you already, again please PM me with something like Overdue Swap or something in the title. If I owe you lav orp eggs, they have started to pick up again, please PM me. IF I owe you lav ams, I was almost caught up and have an extremely mean broody hen... 1st ever Am that has gone broody on me. But I could possibly work out a swap for chicks. My wonderful retired parents have offered to be my chick chauffer (sp?) to the post office probably starting in May. If anyone has PM'ed me about wanting their eggs converted to chicks, it is possible since I might have the chick transport mentioned above. I am kinda overwhelmed atm with home issues, health issues, and too many chicken issues, so might actually be selling a few of my chickens. Don't worry, they won't be sold until I work out my swaps. And before anyone asks... NO the Orps are not being sold. (except white)

Now see, that's not right. What happens if your birds stop laying late Spring? Now you can't fill your swaps.

and THIS is why I did not offer ccl eggs when I got birds about to lay in November. They were not consistently fertile until late January, then one hen died, then I got another hen, then I found out one of my ee hens was sneaking into the CL nest.. ARRG ( also never hatch cl' with silver leghorns.. ever ever ever ever) I did not offer turkeys or breese or quail until I had 1/2 formed chicks in an egg. Of course now no one is excited about my breeds anymore because they are all waiting for spring eggs! ( that is funny!)

But I am not stressed about swaps, so its all good. because I freak out about this stuff, and my birds are supposed to be fun! Now if these little sereamas will just lay!

They're my favorite packing material. I have peanuts and such in case I run out, but I only use them as a last resort.

We no longer get shopping bags . Warning we are a bell-weather, yours will all be gone soon!

BM6, your mf d'ulcces eggs hatched this weekend ( no serama made it, little buggers) They are cute cute cute! All 7 are trying to sleep under a baby turkey, who is looking around VERY uncertainly. Daze, I got 3 chicks from your side swap, I think one is a sock puppet chick WOOHOO!

nope. They are staying, will have plenty of eggs soon.

And thanks, I am hoping my issues will be an easy fix. I will know after the Dr. appt tomorrow.
