ok...who on here would pay 500.00 for a 12+ orp special from GFF?
or
200.00 for 12+ Rhodebars GFF
or
200.00 For 12+ assortment that could include GL Orps, Breda, Rhodebar, Augsberger, Tolbunts, Barnevelders, and Partridge Barthuners?

Am I crazy for even considering it?
I really want Rhodebars, and the orps are killing me!

You REALLY need to make an account with USPS.com and order yourself some regional rate boxes. It'll save you a FORTUNE. Anything that fits in the regional rate A box will ship for a MAXIMUM of $9.88

I see the regional boxes at the post office and I think that's what I used (as i packaged them in my car lol) but they still charged me by the weight :( I just ordered some boxes though through the USPS app.

Suddenly my 106$ for 10 BLRW chicks doesn't seem so bad

*Sigh* Some days. Saw an auction for purebred birds that were hybrids.
Well there probably weren't any ducks in their parentage so they were purebred Gallus domesticus right??? All these common nicknames are just labels... I mean really... what is the difference in a Tolbunt Polish and a Cochin? just a few feathers in different locations... (don't say anything about their weight, those Cochins can be sensitive gals....)

I use to use purple and pink sharpies on all my eggs, then noticed a huge drop in hatch rates on my own eggs I set. Stopped and hatch rates went back up. Not scientific, but was enough for me to not use them anymore. Right now I use grease pencils
I was told that they are toxic to the chicks and not to use them.

Yay!  I hope they all make it.  If you get a cockerel and 3 pullets they will lay enough eggs for you that you will be overrun.  Mine laid all winter long except for one short 3 week break where 1 mini-molted.  Before 2 of mine went broody (by the way that isn't supposed to happen but they are sitting very tight and are very insistent.) I was getting about 18 eggs a week from 3 pullets.

Over run by mini mooses! That would be just too funny. Almost as funny as madams brown fluffy bowling bowl attacking her hubby.
:celebrate  oh oh the news mentioned 50's lol nice cool off

You do that's a heat wave in some parts right? So glad I'm slightly south of Profti. I can actually see all the weeds growing in my garden. But hey good news we have a heat wave moving our way. Up to 70 by Monday!
