I believe you should PM caj1985 with the DC# and she will post it to let the recipient know it is coming. That way it is a SECRET Santa gift!
Thanks, KYT. I forgot to clarify that. I promise if I do this next year or something similar for another time, I WILL get better.

Holy cow!!! CPL, are you feeling ok??? Sheesh!! What a crazy day of swapping!!! I am seriously having swapping withdrawals...lol and I spent my $ for spring eggs already.... haha... back to lurking mode, I really just shouldn't even look, I might have to bite on the choice of chicks, or snow birds, or mystery eggs... lol

And 9gerian... wow, those yaks are pretty cool!! Are the highlands bigger than the yaks?? Is that why they eat more?? I thought yaks were pretty big??

Congrats on all you grandparents, I have young kiddos, and my parents had NO problem telling us how much more they like being grandparents, lol!

Andthanks caj for doing the secret santa!! That's awesome!

My Highland cow was bred as a yearling for a calf at 2 (before I owned her) so she's actually stunted. She's smaller than my bull and eats double what he does. It's not a size thing. She's not growing, and she's not bred, so I think she's just a pig. Domesticated yaks (Bos grunniens) are much smaller than the wild yaks (Bos mutus). They are also slow growing, so my bull will reach his full size around 8 years of age, and his hum should be around 6' tall when he's grown. Their legs are shorter than normal cattle, so while they have the large muscular hump on their back, they are still short.

Well, I broke down and ate an egg this morning. I hope that I have enough left to make my pies tonight. Those feathery stomachs out there need to finish their molts or hurry up and grow up and start laying again. I might-- GULP-- have to BUYeggs to cook with. I am currently getting 1 egg a day from 17 hens of laying age right now.

LOL! I did, last week. 45 chickens and not ONE of them laying!!! Okay, only five are of laying age, but still... I tell ya, I was growling and making threats THAT night! But the layers now have a light in the coop, so we'll give it a bit and see if that makes a difference. And seven of the pullets are 3 1/2 months old now, so not toooo much longer!

X3 Over 100 chickens...maybe 10 eggs and since the ones laying are my swap eggs, I don't dare eat them LOL. Yes I bought eggs from the market.
