Anyone in the area of PA, MD, WV and Virginia want a Tolbunt polish rooster, let me know. He's 9 months old and needs to go.
If only I had a hen. I so want some of your tolbunts.

I thought my Barnevelders would never integrate. There was never awny bloodshed but the rest of the Chickens hung around the house but the barnies stayed down the hill at the coop all day for 4 months... until last week. now they are suddenly mingling. the older girls are still chasing them off when it comes to food, but they are mingling when they are just laying around!!!!

color me thrilled! it is still a novelty to see them up here.

I'm happy to report that despite the early temperature fluctuations, my cheapy-bator has settled down and has been humming along nicely since. I've got a few eggs I'm still not sure about, but most look to be developing nicely!!! And I have to admit, I kinda like my egg-stirring technique I've come up with ;-) It's very tactile-ly fulfilling, and I swear I think the eggs like the contact!

i have one SBEL out and i think 8 more pips out of the 14 that made it to lockdown! it's a cutiepie with a pea comb, but i'll bet it's a roo. pics after they are all done.

oh, i have a secret. ssshhhhhh.......i got some new baby silkies last week(whites, self blues, porcelains, blacks and a cute paint).
