Question of the day. How can people not LOVE chickens? I mean really?!?!?
I know, right? When I found out I could have chickens in my town, and got them, I thought that would make me more conent to live in town until we are able to move to a farm. Nope, it just made me 2x as antsy to get to the country. Now I just add breeding pens that I will build to the day dreams.

Uggggghhhhhh. I got maybe four hours of sleep last night. Couldn't fall asleep, then my oldest son wakes me up a hour and a half later bycoming to my side of the bed and puking everywhere. Yuck. I had to get out the carpet cleaner, which woke up the baby, who decided to stay up until 4:30, then it was the babies turn to wake me up at 6:30 by puking. Awesome. We have been dealing with different strains of sickness straight since the end of October. My kids where NEVER sick before Hayden started school. Like, I could literally count on one hand how many times in four years the two had been sick. It is so frustrating. I keep having to tell myself that its good in a way, they will build up immunities now when I am not working, so we don't deal with this when he starts elementary school... But it's ridiculous.
So sorry! Nothing worse than sick kids, especially with a stomach virus. Hopefully, their immunity will build up and this will end soon.

Thanks for the prayers all - still snowing - have probably 10 or so inches but the ELECT. stayed on!!!! Haven't ventured to the barn yet cause fed and watered at10 pm so taking my time before i get out in the wind..Brrrrr.
Glad to hear you made it through. We have about 6 inches here. All of my chickens are is weird places. My layers were free-ranging when this started yesterday and all but two wound up crowding into my tiny grow out coop to weather the storm. I couldn't find my rooster at all. This morning he was on the top of the run for the layer coop. I just opened the doors and went to work after I melted everyone's water and fed. Hopefully, they will have sorted themselves out by the time I get home. My Buttercups flew out, landed in the snow and just sat their like what is this. I finally had to pick up all the pullets and put them back inside. My rooster flew in on his own. When I shut the doors they were all glaring at me like it was my fault that this weird stuff was on their ground.

Blah, it's snowing again here. The girls are not liking it and neither am I.

On a better note, I have 4 beautiful GFF chickies hatched and more pipped. I lockdown a second set of GFF eggs yesterday (14 total) and I have Isbars going into lockdown tomorrow. The next week or so is going to be crazy with all the eggs due to hatch.

Ditto we had a big hatch yesterday to ship out today, since that's not happening I had to to pen another brooder.

Hopefully the day after NY will be better or I am going to be swimming in chicks. it will be like one of those "ball pits" for kids but filled with chicks. Lol it would be fluffy and warm. ;)

Nothing wrong with that at all. You're brave. I couldn't ship chicks this time of the year.

I just heard back from Jenny on 2 mystery eggs that I did not recognize the codes for. Jubilees and Gold Laced Orps.

Oh please develop and hatch little ones.

Ventured out to go to the bank and library and get milk, made it three miles up the road and said "to heck with this", stopped at the little corner grocery for milk and came home. It's brutal out there right now! I miss my Subaru.... In my Subaru I would drive to Maine through this and not turn a hair. In a '95 Mazda 626 with bald tires? Yeah, the bank can wait til tomorrow. Or spring.

I hear ya. I was planning on going to town but I do not like driving in this type of weather. Going to wait until DH gets home and let him drive me to town.
