If you have the box, do a dry run. Put down a towel or paper towels in the box and put the chicks in. make sure they are too cramped and have some room to move. That's what I did with some chicks I shipped. Ended up using 2 boxes instead.

I have NOTHING for shipping. Trying to order, do not know what to order....

Me too! When I first bought it my husband turned up his nose saying it wasn't real coffee....now he is pressing the button more then me!

Morning all it's cold and windy here. Found my first frozen egg this morning. Someone must have laid during the night for it was under the roost.

You can even just try to find a box close to those dimensions or create one sort of. Draw it out on the ground or cardboard.

Glad you are good at it. If I take on extra work it is usually as a tutor at the college. Pay is good but some of them need to go back to high school and pay attention...

I did that a couple of times. When I found an MBA student that couldn't figure out how to solve a simple algebra equation in his finite class I just about lost it. When I would tell him to solve 2X+3 = 6 that you had to subtract the 3 from either side and then divide by two on either side of the equal sign in order to get the X by itself, and he looked at me and said, "How do you know what number to subtract or divide by?" I thought what are we doing in school anymore.

Ok, those of you who are Marans people. I have my first set ever (beautiful Birchen from crfarm). I don't have any pips, rocking, etc. yet. I always have early hatchers. I'm wondering now since I keep hearing Marans are hard to hatch. Is there anything (at this late point) that I need to be doing?

Mine hatch on time or later.... my others usually hatch early.

I just made some homemade eggnog yummy. My neighbor bought me over some eggs... Which was nice, but I really didn't need them. Think I am going to make some creme brûlée and some brioche too to burn through the eggs I already have

I had someone text me, asking if I would deliver them 5 chicks 30 miles away. I told them I am not going to delivery $10 worth of chicks for a $9 drive.
