My NJ's have been in lock down 2 days and not a pip yet..... I'm getting nervous. The temp is fine, but humidity is running a little high. Do you think I should take out the vent plugs and let it dry up a little??

That would make this day 20? I wouldnt fret just yet, sometimes chicks just dont come out and play until they"re ready. Hang there, soon you"ll have

mine during summer, have started a day early or right on time. This winter, however, they have started later even a day later, and hatched. It is very hard dong the waiting game.....

what is the humidity running?

this morning it was up to 77 - usually it drops but I put a wet sponge in this time and it is really keeping it up. It is usually at about 60% by now.

I wouldn't worry about the NJs. They are the easiest hatching chicks I have. When they start, it's like popcorn. Nothin' going on, then an hour laters lots of pips and zips. They must ESP each other or something. It's like synchronized swimming. Everyone pip now, all together now, everyone zip now, all together, and now the grand finale, with lots of fireworks. Man I love my NJs!
