I am so embarrassed!! I just got a pm from babymake6 and the eggs I sent her were all but scrambled due to my packing!! I have been reading articles on how to pack "small" numbers of eggs. I tried a couple new methods and the one to babymakes6 is NOT the one to use. I have sent eggs to several people. If you rec'd eggs that were less that stellar, please let me know. I usually wrap in small bubble wrap and place in carton, then wrap carton in big bubble wrap and then box. With the small orders I have been filling the "empty spots in the carton with news paper and covering the section with bubble wrap and have had no problems. I will post the method that DID NOT WORK so no one else makes the same mistake. AGAIN, if you rec'd eggs from
me that were not packed properly, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

The eggs I got from you 3 weeks ago were very well packaged. None were scrambled or broken. They go into lockdown tonight!!

Thanks! I just found a Cree 1000L LED flashlight on the big auction site with the charger and batteries and it's one of a few that's shipping from the USA too!
Good for you. I hated the fact that I was buying from China and not the US, but at the time those were the only ones that were listed.

You need to not hold that light on the eggs very long, it can blind them. Mine is 400 lumens and is way better than the 120 lumens I was using before. I can still use the 120 just fine but the more lumens the better but I think anything higher than 400 is too much money and not worth it. You can get them cheap now so keep looking. Mine required ODD batteries too so keep an eye out for that. I had to order 2 one showed up about 4 months after I ordered it. It had normal batteries, but it fell and broke and something must have come out of it because I can't use the button on the back without it going ALL THE WAY in the flash light.

BillieSue.... happens to us all once in a while.

I just finished packing up my NYDH eggs to ship today. I am trying the stand on their end packaging that everyone is talking about, to prevent the air cells from detaching.
I am

X100 that they make it safely and everyone has a good hatch from them.

I had 100% development from your eggs BHep, and 9 going into lockdown tomorrow

If the PO really shook up the box, even the most expertly packed eggs could arrive scrambled

I only candle twice during incubation (Day 10 and 18) and only long enough to see if there is development.

On a side note, I received some eggs from a side swap with emvickrey yesterday. They were some of the best packed eggs I have ever gotten! Thanks, Marie!!!

Just rec'd PM from babymakes6 and this was the problem:

They were nestled in the carton with shredded paper, then the carton had a sheet of bubble wrap loosely wrapped around it. There were a couple more "pillow packs" and bubble wrap in the box. I think it was just too much "wiggle room."

I had just read an article about how you should NOT pack in bubble wrap as the eggs need to "breathe" - So, anyone else who reads this should know the shredded paper method DOES NOT WORK. Its back to the bubble wrap and tight packages for me.
