Very excited to watch these grow and get them to laying age.

Good morning everyone. I have gotten a ton of PM's about the re-swapping or selling of swaps for pp. every single one is against doing this due to the amount of record keeping it would involve. We are not going to allow this on any of our threads. While we can't control if you want your eggs sent to someone else we are not going to support this practice. The person who claimed the swap will remain the person of record and the person shipping eggs is only required to have contact with that person, unless arrangements are made with the sender. An example I have had a few people claim eggs for others, this if fine as long as the sender agrees to send the eggs to the 3 rd party.

We have also caught a swapper re-selling our eggs on e-bay this will not be tolerated. Many of us here are sharing our normally expensive eggs with everyone so that they may have the chance to own these awesome birds not for anyone to turn around and make money off of the generosity that is shown here on this swap.

Ok all the business stuff out of the way SWAP ON!

WHAT??? You've got to be kidding! First of all, that is not only unethical on many levels, but secondly, by the time the eggs arrive to you from the sender, you sell them, and they go back out, the eggs will be well over a week old at the least!!!

What some people do is beyond me...

Surely any eggs someone is selling on e-bay that they received shipped from someone else aren't viable eggs, or at least their chances of being viable are drastically reduced. Person A sends eggs to Person B after three days worth of collecting. Three days in the mail (being jostled about) to Person B. Person B lists an auction (I don't know how long all auctions last but they're usually at least 24 hours, that's another day). Person B sends eggs to Person C and that takes another three days....and more jostling. So really by the time the eggs are at Person C's address they are at least 10 days old. Add that to the factor of being completely unethical - why would anyone do this?? This is very sad to me.

With regard to reswapping - I do have two friends here on the forum that live close to me, and I do plan on *sharing* my eggs with them when they arrive... just as I have done with eggs I have purchased from breeders. I don't charge anything, I just share because I'm limited in how many chickens I can have and I don't want healthy fertile eggs going to waste. I don't think that's what you're referring to though, right?

....still very perturbed about the hatching eggs being sold elsewhere. I do plan on offering Seramas next year, after I have bred them and have chosen my own breeders out of their offspring and have some new blood, etc. I would be furious if someone sold them off after receiving them from a swap. =(

[Edited to add] - after posting I read tdhenson's post and theirs pretty much says the exact same thing I said, but for whatever reason I take a novel to say something most people can say in a few sentences. Sorry about that....long-winded runs in my family.
