Wow, they are beautiful.

Thanks Jeannie,
can't quite capture the true coloring but that is my start from my original hatching that I bought. These are what I have kept. with winter I will be concentrating more on my projects to get them further along. Been neglecting them this year due to grandkids for the last 8 months. Now they are gone and moved out.

Long story but very sad and just before Christmas too. Only good thing is NOW I am getting better cold/sick wise.

I have duck eggs coming. Who can give me the skinny on how to incubate duck eggs?
Put them in the incubator...............................................

I have not ever had any luck hatching ducks in the bator.......was told you need to keep a higher ( I think it was higher) humidity.
Anyway, notinhg hatched.

My goodness...I've been so busy the last few days that I'm having a hard time catching up on posts. RedBrush Farm and pysankigirl- I am very sorry for your losses.

It has been a very sad and solemn day with the news of the Newtown shooting. I can't imagine what the parents and community must be going through.

I had to log on and read my threads to give me a bit of a lift. I hope you and all your families are safe and happy tonight!

i wanted to show you guys these to roos i was given as babies, a friend hatched a set of eggs for a school project but didnt want to keep them so they gave them to me. i got some silkie mix hens outa the mix and these two roos, that iv ben told look like polish or polish mixes of some type.

this is the first one i call him Mr T because of his mohawk.

This is the other i call him National (short for Barr International, hes a bruiser compared to the others in the group)

Hmmm...I could incubate them in my hatcher and just hand turn them. The humidity is set for 65%. Everything I've read says to incubate with that humidity but then I have to get it higher during lockdown. I do have a broody but I can't see sticking 6 duck eggs under a silkie.
