Only a sick roo could send me out in the snow on Christmas Eve to the store. I had to go get some generic Monistat to treat his sour crop that will not go away. Always something.

Mmmmmm, deviled eggs sounds good.
Aww your such a sweet person going out in bad weather for your little ones. Have you tried Apple cider vinger in there waterer , I dont know how much you put in those real big ones I put 1/2 2/3 capfull in my little chick waterers. ? Just a thought others know much more about the uses of ACV then I do as I learned it here. I hope he gets better soon.

Yes, I usually put ACV in their water. He just has a bad case of sour crop that isn't going away.

Must stop tormenting myself!!!! Why do I do that? I can't claim any more swaps but still I have to haunt the swap thread... lol!

Merry Christmas Eve, everybody! I hope all your preparations are done and everyone is settled in safe at home with their families :) It's getting nasty here -- freezing rain for the past hour, so everything's getting slicked up pretty well.

I just chased the girls back into the coop (they have a covered 'lean-to' kind of area they like to play in in foul weather) and changed out the water bucket -- it's been freezing at night, so I take out a new one with warm water in it twice a day, switch, bring the frozen one in -- makes it quick, easy, and I don't have to muck around refilling things out in the cold). I had sold off a bunch of my hatchery pullets to make room for new ones, so was down to four adult hens, my cuckoo marans roo, and fourteen poults so I condensed 'em all down into one flock the other night. I expected there to be a lot of snarking and snapping as they all got used to each other but they really settled in together very easily and happily. (More body heat in the coop? Maybe that's it... lol!)

So I am actually back down to 19 chickens! Well, and my three little chickies... who are also playing very nicely together even though Mystery is a week old and the other two just hatched yesterday :)

Looks like only 20 minutes until the backwards swap starts! I wish everything would load correctly for me. Sometimes everything comes up, sometimes is does not...very frustrating!! Insert hair pulling smiley here!

Well where is the swap starting (state)? It is 76 degrees here, we live near Houston, we sat out on the patio and ate hamburgers at five guys for lunch doing final dinner shopping and sticking stuffers. Beautiful way to finish the day! Can't wait for the backwards swap sounds so fun while I'm making cookies and deviled eggs lol
