Thought I saw someone mention harbor freight. If you want it now to get the power back on I'd start there or Home Depot or lowes. You can get good deals on amazon usually if you want to wait. Praying they get your power fixed!

but neat!

Quote: I grabbed like 4'big blankets an draped them over the incubator. I have a cabinet so the car doesn't work to keep them warm. Gonna call pg and e in 2 hours to get a time estimate and then may have to consider a generator.

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope they get your power restored quickly!
backup power supplies for computers are a good choice. Hotel and carefully transport the incubators.

Do you brood in the house or a building? Lowes and HD have the self contained "fireplace heaters" and LP heaters you can run off a gas grill tank. hope you get power back soon!

This maybe a silly question lol But if eggs are x-rayed does it effect the bulls eye on them? I usually do not complain about eggs. But I bought these off ebay and after I did I saw someone else complain about the person too. For me 12 out of 14 eggs didn't even start. So I opened the others up. They look infertile to me. The person on ebay said it is b/c they where x-rayed. I have no clue. So thought I would ask some more knowledgeable people then I. If that is the case fine then. Thanks

srpaint, who was the seller?

Well it was a cold one here last night, got down to -12° and that's not the wind chill. Was out doing the chicken chores and one coop got down to 7° and the other had a low temp of 17°. The water base heaters were able to keep up so there wasn't any frozen water. I was hoping to not find any chickencicles when I went out but they all look good! Got 10 eggs from the coop with 13 layers in it too!

Make that 25 degrees. Wow I missed that frost warning which means gonna have some water issues today. Bummer. Anyways, it's a new year! Yay. Happy new year!

Eek! And 2013 starts off with a bang! Dude if it's that common a problem (and I know what you're talking about) maybe you should invest in a backup generator? Some can even be wired to kick on automatically if the power goes out. They're pricey, though.
