What bothers me is them saying they will send 6 week old chicks, and sending 1-2 week olds in a big box with no heat pack! It is 10 degrees here! Of course, the pullet was dead.

Oh no. That's horrible. Maybe it doesn't feel like winter in Florida but darn, check the weather people. Some of the country is actually cold this time of year. What bothers me is them saying they will send 6 week old chicks, and sending 1-2 week olds in a big box with no heat pack! Thanks for all the work you do keeping track of us all!!I have finally updated the status here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/paypal-hatching-eggs-swap-status-contests-updates-and-rules
If you are on the restricted list, but madamwlf or one of the other admins has cleared you to be on the unrestricted list, just know that I am working on getting everyone moved to the correct list. Just be patient, please. All names I don't recognize automatically get put on the restricted list and when I get confirmation of those who should be moved, I will move the names. I am sorry if this causes confusion, but we have had quite a few new people join us since we moved to this new thread
and it is just taking some time to get things put in place. I am working on a spreadsheet on Google Drive that everyone will be able to view to see all yours swaps and the setup is taking a great deal of my time right now.![]()
If you want to peek, you can find it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Am7IlDTXygsBdHB3VDhwYjJBdTg1YVhWT3JsZXpsTVE Please keep in my this is a work in progress and I have not had time to debug it or double check the info that was manually entered yet.
Laura, I got some info for you! I have been corresponding with someone near me who has gorgeous BLRW! He is NPIP and I had asked him a couple of months ago about it. I just asked him about AI and here is what he said:
"...."
He is due to have it done again in early February, so he thought it would be a great idea to do mine the same day. Hopefully my birds aren't too young yet and I can be tested in another month!.![]()
Seriously, I just don't think they care. They are getting their money but loosing birds because of their carelessness. Poor babies.Cool! I am thrilled!
so sad about your pullet in the other post...do they guarantee live shipment? do they just not care at all? so weird.
I use the pulp ones and have had no issues at all. In fact, I will never go back to laying the eggs down for hatching. I've gotten way better hatch rates with sitting them up in cartons.
It was actually Rachael's, but, yes, it will be replaced.Cool! I am thrilled!
