I have more then plenty to choose from!I'll come up and take some of them off of your hands!!!
FL coops and breeding pens dont look like many from up north, we have to worry about heat and open air with a roof is a common theme
Yes
Yes open air is key. I used to just leave everyone in the locked run with a roof, until the coons just started ripping the chickens out through the chain link. Now I lock them up in the two small coops, but I need more. And I had no where to separate breeders. It is going to be REALLY hard for me to not allow birds to free range everyday all day long. Before it wasn't a problem- I only had cochin roosters that where mature.
I paid $150 today for all the supplies to section off part of the run, and build the roosting box. I drew up plans to make a four section breeding pen, and I priced it out to cost me $400. I will ask for lowes GCs for my birthday and save all chick/egg sales to build it, since hubby refuses to finance my chicken expansion any more!!
Darned racoons. I live in zone 7 and am going to begin building yet another coop in the next week, or rather DH is going to.. I'm in the same boat. He said that's it, no more after these current projects are finished. He said that after the first coop too, and we're now up to 5 going on 6.Yes
