Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Not compared to your precious eggies, they're not!!! That's soooo miserable, and I know just exactly how awful you feel. After my last two hatches before NYD I was about ready to change my username to chickenkiller  :hugs   The disappointment on top of the guilt is a really awful combination :(

I have heard very good things about these, and want to get one asap myself:

They're about $14, so very reasonably priced -- maybe this might help?

Would they work in a cabinet incubator? That sure beats $80 for one, if it'll connect into my heating element. Killing eggs is awful. I candle them often enough that it's like they're already hatched. You check on their development and watch them swimming around in there.

I have a few suggestions for headaches , I have a tumer in my spinal cord right aroud C5 that pushes the spinal cord out and cuaseing the spinal fluid to build up just a little pressure , this cuases me to have chronic migrains 365 days a year 24 hours a day , this cuases me also to have tension headaches due to being tense becuase of them pain and can just spiral out of control. So I have had years to come up with stuff that helps me with my head aches.
1. Always drink more water when you start getting a head ache. I like many people prefer to drink juice or tea or soda ect and dont always drink enouh water, But even extreamly mild dehydration can cuase some intense headaches or make exhisting wons worse, Dont drink super cold water though (brain Freeze) . Drink at least 8 glasses of water even if you had other stuff to drink , it really does ususally help even if it dosnt make the origanal headache go comepeltly away.
2. Rice filled things ok so I dont konw what these are called but like I have a long tube of fleece filled with rice and sewn shut. I can heat it up or cool it down by ether nukeing it in the microwave or sticking it in the freezer. If your head ache is related to tense muscles ect nice and warm drapped across your shoulders and base of your neck helps , if its another type draping it cool across your forhead and or eyes or the base of your skull can some times really help.
3. Buy Excedrine any one you want ,and buy some Advil extra strength. In case of a bad headache that one or the other things dosnt help take 2 excidrine and 2 advil at the same time. I got this ok'd by my dr but you have to be carefull with takeing so much stuff at once as the excedrine has asprin and caffine in it as well as tylenole but this is why it works your getting caffine that does sevral things to your systems and 3 diffrent paain killers that all work in slightly diffrent ways to treat pain.
I hope this helps . If you take prescription meds or have any type of serious medical condetion you should ask your dr befor trying my headache pill combo.

I know, right? I was just telling my cube-mate today that it I am learning how hard it really is not to "count my chickens before they hatch."

I would think so, Bettacreek, although I can't say for sure. I've got a converted wine refrigerator heated with two 75 watt bulbs, it should work for that.

I agree. I've been feeling quite exhausted lately. Lack of day light doesn't help much and this headache is just dragging me down. Really hard to focus on much.

I'm finding my favorite cure for being dragged out is plop in a favorite movie and snuggle a chick...

Bettacreek, if you can't afford the MRI (who can? I hear ya), see if you can afford a consultation with a chiropractor. A lot of recurring migraines are caused by back alignment problems putting pressure on the spinal column. Also causes a lot of sciatic nerve damage/problems, too. In the meantime, all my sympathy!!! Migraines are the pits.

That probably wouldn't be a bad idea. My back between my shoulders always gives me problems. Between my ankles, knees and hip, my back and the headaches, I swear I'm 24, but trapped inside of an 80 year old body. The part that irritates me though is that nobody can ever DIAGNOSE the problems. My joints started at five, first it was growing pains, then after a few years they changed it to attention-seeking behavior. After getting that birth control shot, I went from less than 100lbs to 135 in six months, so then of course my joints were only hurting because I was fat. They didn't take into account that I had had the issues since I was five and waz watched for being UNDER weight for all of those years.

Gabrielle, I hear ya. I wrecked my back years ago working as a CNA. Now I write, which means self-employed, no health insurance. When things get really whacked I take a "Daphne cocktail": two aspirin, two aleve, and two ibuprofin (the ol' red-white-&blue). Gets me up and functional although I try not to think about what I'm doing to my liver.

I DO NOT recommend the above to anyone!!!!!!! I recommend a job with benefits so you can go to a doctor.

I'm sympathetic to those with severe headaches...hope you feel better soon. So sorry about the eggs. That hurts, no two ways about it. But things happen that are beyond our control.

On the subject of building materials, also check new construction sites. They often have some bits of things that go to the landfill because they aren't considered usable, but they'd be great for a chicken house. In fact, we've scrounged a deep sink, a pallet of bricks and sundry lumber from construction sites...with permission, not when people aren't there. Commercial construction is better than residential. When they're tossing six foot lengths of 2 x 4, I'll take all I can fit in my Element!
