Hatching baskets..... Let me preface this with the size of my hatcher. Someone was going to throw this out with other stuff I saved. I got a plywood box about 2ft tall, 3ft long and 2ft wide. So a good size hatcher. I needed a way to keep the breeds separated too. This was NOT my idea.... I got it from another byc'er... the smartest people in the WORLD

Have some that are divided in to 4 sections, some 3 sections but most are divided in half or full sized. I can get 4 baskets on each level and can stack them 3 tall in the hatcher. I have hatched 120 chicks at one time with these baskets

not going to do that AGAIN

I got these at one of the dollar type stores







Put some shelf liner (also from the dollar store) to prevent chicks from slipping on the plastic.



I also got some cookie cooling racks at the dollar store, 2 were in a pack. They fit the top perfect to keep the chicks from jumping out. I attached them with handy dandy zip ties.




Here they are in action and some with the dividers in them. I just attached them with old Telephone wire.



BTW I hatch in stryrofoam egg cartons all the time now, unless there is one with a weird air cell.

Rec'd my eggs from Ray-n-Debi. Plenty of extras. Great packaging. All eggs arrived safe and sound.

Glad I could help. I try to take pics of what I think people might want to see.... I am a visual person so I like pics so I can tell if I can use it or not.

BTW we are getting grains tomorrow and I will try to get pics of the process of drying them.

I'm not sure how that can be since Jenny told me their Black Bresse aren't laying yet. Either way, I'll take my chances with buying chicks. That seller doesn't have great feedback and several buyers look like they had no eggs hatch.

Sorry for ditching you all last night but that nagging headache turned into a migraine and boy did I go down hard. In bed by 7:30. And woke up with a slight headache. Going to be another off day. Plus my little SG didn't make it. I am not having a good week.

On a happier note (hopefully), my white Bresse have shipped and will be here tomorrow. I'm hoping all make it.

Sorry to hear you are still under the weather. My migraines stopped when I got past 48 if you know what I mean. Too bad about your SG and hopefully everything goes well with your Bresse shipment.
