Great News - Our postmaster drove to Hillsboro, MO to pick up my chickens!! He called and should be here by 2:30. I do not know what kind of trip they have had, or how well they are, but they are ON THE WAY HOME!!

Great news! You're going to love the little cuties. Mine are such sweethearts and love attention! A word of caution...they are very strong flyers. My hen easily spans a 45 ft distance at about 7 ft height when she decides to stretch her wings lol. When I'm there and let them out to free range, they often fly to the top of the main coop which is about 9 ft.

Oh My!! I had no idea they could fly like that. I will put them in the pen with the aviary netting over it... I was thinking about it anyway as I have been seeing a hawk and an owl every couple days. I have only seen them with mice and one rabbit, but it would be my luck they would hone in on the pretty colors of my new girls and boy..... I am hoping they will be friendly.....

Thanks - They just called and ask me to go out and watch for them. He has never been this far out before. Crossing my fingers that they are well

I keep 5 hens and three males together. They get along fine. It's just up to you. Some said they may fight, but mine have gotten alone great. I do have a large place for them, so that may make a difference. I have 3 different colors of peacock so I really did not want to get rid of any. They are beautiful when they are all strutting at the same time.... Congratulations!! I know I don't have to send you anything - I'll make sure I get as many birds as I can in the box, how would that be.... As soon as the heat pad is here, they are ready to be shipped!
Sounds good to me!

I plan to give a pair to my cousin and another pair to Rachael's friend, but was wanting to know if fertility would be a problem in a quad? Can a cock cover 3 hens well?
how on earth do get that for free?? lol I know of alot of folks around giving all their animals away because they cant afford to care for them:(
Our local city park has 2 pens of peafowl. I wanted to ask about getting eggs to hatch for a long time, but never saw anyone to ask. Back in November I was there when the lady came to feed, so I asked what they do with the eggs and she said they usually get tossed. She said they wanted to reduce the flock by quite a few and would give them away if I wanted them.
