They're going to be beautiful when they've cleaned up from their trip!

Hey, I took a spring swap of these from someone, could these be the parents of my future chicks? I'll have to go look at my spreadsheet,

It could be. These guys are so very calm. Most birds would be spazzing if you got near their cage but not these guys.

ok, thanks for the info and reading! Now I need to get a few for long term meat breeding. It is why we keep the muscovy too, I can hatch a few at a time and grow out and process.

We do the same thing with rabbits. Would love to be able to do so with duck-how messy are ducks if u don't have a pond?

I'm glad your experience with Jon was good also. I am not going to get anymore bresse, I have too many already) but I would like to try some of his other birds. I know he raises CCLs also.

So how do you cook your muscovy? We had some a few years ago and I butchered one and cooked it up. It was really dry. This was the one and only time I've ever tried cooking duck so I probably did it all wrong.

I have some Cayuga eggs on the way. Will they do? My best friend has Magpie ducks and we eat the drakes every year. They are good. I am definitely a duck novice

I think my chicks are traveling by bike messenger. I don't know why else it would take so long!!! I mean they are coming from a neighboring state!!!

I'm so sorry - Next time ask for the Pony Express - They would have been there by now... Try not to worry. Fingers crossed they will be on first truck in the morning....
