been on the run all day. (or so it seems)

Started drawing up plans for the new breeder house for the LF chickens. I think we have a game plan finally.

We have chocolate bantam orps hatching right now. Sooooooooooooooooo cute!

will share pictures this weekend. I think I would like a fun trio or quad of cochins to house next to the bantam choc orps. So who has em, and whats a cool/fun color.



Our Guinea fowl flock are ALL being butchered this weekend. They went on a rampage and killed 2 ducklings, a gosling

and tried to get a rooster too. Naughty, nasty birds! I call them the farm mafia, and after today they are all doomed to OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.

You need MF cochins or gold laced cochins. They both are pretty!

Ugh. Nothing can make you feel sick worse than crushing a chick. They all come storming when I bring them something. This time it was the waterer. I didn't even know until I moved it because it was too close to the wall and saw it gasping.

It seems to be okay now though, running around like the rest.

Oh I hope the chick is OK. I am always afraid I am going to drop the waterer on one. My hands ain't what they used to be and I drop them a lot. I try to make sure none are in the bombs away zone.

You guys are all nuts! Lol im just jealous! -22 here today broody or no broody our winters are just to harsh for babies outside...especially in my house with closed windows...i had 5 broodies ladt month...1 is still broody...i would ave loved to throw 6-10 under each one! My SLB goes broody every winter...she has yet to hatch babies shed be a beautiful mom...she snuggles her pine shaving so good! Lol she snuggles my hand into her breast everyday when I make sure she doesnt have eggs lol

Just so everyone knows, I put 28 choc wyandotte eggs in the bator yesterday. Everyone

that they do well, because I don't need that many chicks!!! So I will share!

That is why I left NY and settled into the south! You can shovel and freeze, I will sunbathe!

Well I need a sweater. It was 59 today but 70's last week.
