I found the Husky boxes on home depot. Problem is they are only avail. in store and only in certain stores. I am on a page that lets me put in zip codes to see if they are avail. in a store near you.... I will post the url -If it does not work, you can list your zip and I will check for you.....

THANK YOU for that link. Only problem.. not available around here. I will go through all the stores within a 60 mile radius when I get home searching for one that might have them.

I don't know about glue - I think it might get hard and fall off with that close contact to heat. I took a wire and wired mine on through some holes. Also - if it didn't work - you can un-wire it - no damage to the pad.

I hadn't thought of that.... (which is why my hubby would say leave the building to him) I'll try the wire.....

RBF, Thanks for the link. The Home Depots up here don't carry them either. I called HD online customer service and her computer didn't show the item at all. She said that happens with store only items and suggested I ask at my local HD (which is 25 miles away). I printed off the page you linked and will be bringing it down tonight to see if they can get it ordered for me. Good thing I won't have anything to put in a brooder in the near future.

OK I give up! I am going back to bed!!! Two of the chicks have died (the ones dragging the most egg sac) And another is so weak it won't even peep.

I got a call from my bank that there were fraudulant charges on my card this morning...a couple hundred dollars worth. So I have to deal with that too. I still need to shovel all that snow. My dogs are super hyper and driving me crazy!!

I am going to go take a nap!!!!

Someone mentioned toe punching chicks.... would you PLEASE tell me how you get a toe punch between those itty bitty toes? and What tool would you recommend? You said it was like $20 for a good one but I don't know what that is

I think for SOME of my breeds I would like to toe punch them so I will ALWAYS know where they came from.
