Yeah, they can be pretty gruesome sometimes!

And when my son had a snake, we did that too. Cheaper, better, and you get mice to play with!
Oh I don't play with mice. I think they are nasty little critters. Smelly too.

Wish I could raise my own mice, but I'm allergic to them (thank the pet guinea pig that set off the allergy, now I can't do mice/rats/gerbils/hamsters either, though I raised them as a kid). We have to order in frozen mice for the snakes. Any uneaten mice the dogs or chickens get. I have to guard the feeding cart from one of my dogs, especially, or she'll help herself. Chickens will also eat any culled hatchling snakes and play a huge round of chicken football if one of them gets ahold of one.

My husband's pit will eat mice or rats. His pit mix is odd. He will only eat rats. Won't touch a mouse at all.

What can I say? So long as they have fur or feathers rather than exoskeletons, I like animals :)
I would much rather have pets with exoskeletons then mice. Oh wait, I do have those kinds of pets.

Hmmm....might have to look into expanding the breeding mice operation. I like giving my girls more animal protein.

I alway get a kick out of it when my free rangers manage to catch a little snake. Can't help but laugh at them doing laps around the house with whomever is currently in the lead tripping over the snake.

It's so fun to watch. The older girls know what it is: something good to eat. The young ones are hesitant until one of the older girls snatches and runs. Then it is game on!
