So I found out my Barthuhners are 6.5 months old. Darn good size for such young birds. Good gracious what is he going to look like at a year.

I hatched out 2 CL/Jaerhon crosses from cjwaldon last Summer/Fall. I have a cockeral and a pullet (cockeral has been crowing since 3 weeks old). My question is, what egg color gene do you think the cockeral will throw (white or blue)? A 50/50 chance? I'm thinking of intergrating them into my Araucana/Ameraucana/EE/OE pen (if my Araucana roo will accept them). It will be a long process, but I was just trying to figure out if it would be worth it. It will interesting to see what she lays.

She should lay blue eggs, but I think it's a 50/50 shot what they will throw to their offspring. I think.
 
I am SO frustrated! I ordered Horizon boxes and Grogel from Myer Hatchery. I have been waiting on them to come in because I have birds to ship this week. The shipment arrived a few minutes ago. The boxes are there, but they didn't install the bio filters. The Grogel is there, but they sent the 100 instead of 2000 use size. Now I'm on the phone with someone who is clueless. She is sending out the replacement Grogel today or tomorrow, but she can't figure out what to do about the filters. They don't sell the filters unless they install them there, but that isn't possible since I've already received the boxes. The boxes are useless to me without the filters. ARGHHH!

Then they better express ship a new order of boxes with the filters installed along with a paid return shipping label for the boxes without the filter!

It doesn't sound like that's going to happen at all. They have to call me back to figure out what to do, because I called my order in originally and specified I needed the boxes complete with filter, but they did not charge me on the invoice for the filter installation. They don't even have a product number for the filters and don't sell them separately. The prices and shipping were great, but this is ridiculous.

On a better note, I called Horizon and explained the situation. They are putting filters in the mail for me tomorrow (already passed there today) free of charge! Now that's what I call good customer service.

Unfortunately, it doesn't really help my shipping situation. I really wanted to send the birds out tomorrow, and I'm leaving Friday evening to go out of town and won't be back home until the night of Wednesday the 14th. There isn't much of a chance that the filters and Grogel will be here before I leave. If so, it would be on a Thursday or Friday, and I don't think I'm supposed to ship lives on those days. Only Monday through Wednesday, correct?
