Morning all! Smallest child was well enough to send to school. First time she's had to ride the bus by herself without her sibs, so we had a bit of a meltdown this morning. I promised her I would walk out (even in the rain) and meet her at the bus this afternoon. The other two are coughing and still feverish. Going to be a long day.

The last 6 eggs from my January set should hatch today.

Added pine shavings to the brooder last night, over the paper towels. That was so entertaining. The little ones ran around pecking a nd playing in the shavings. Easily spent an hour just watching them be silly. Very much needed.


I have a solo roo. I had to cull the female that hatched.

So glad your girl's doing better!

And yeah, I'm strongly considering deducting my birds as a medical expense. I need them for my mental health.

Um, yes sir. I have a prescription for live poultry.....Yes, from a real Doctor....I need them to stay sane. Yes, sir, I really did pay that much for chicks.... Would you like a dozen eggs?

just sent off a box with hens inside for Michelle (reese) they both laid down like they were old hats at being shipped. Silly girls lol


I am so blessed, my hubby went over the breeds today and helped select the final cut for what we are adding, keeping, ect. Then he left with two poultry shipping boxes to drop at the PO and to pick up our hay order for me. He is a great enabler of all things poultry/waterfowl

OK I think this is the route I am taking to VA Beach and back. Northern route going down, southern route coming back up. Points on map are there to force it to route me where I want to go, not exactly where I am stopping. If you are along my route or can meet me near my route I will transport chickens! (Or whatever as long as it is legal!

) I am driving down March 14-15 not sure where I am stopping yet and coming back March 28-29. I think I will stop near Cincinnati coming back.
