Acechix- how are the Cochins laying? Any chance you will be offering some more eggs soon?

Hi There,

The Cochins are the best layers in the place. Problem is the cold seems to be effecting the fertility of the BBS flock. Anyone else seeing this? I am at about 75% fertility and I am used to 100%.

I feel dishonest to offer them knowing they may not all be fertile, ya know?

The grandparents are here and as wild as the kids. They are teaching them how to make paper airplanes

I will be regretting that next week. I have been very pleased. I ask the students to MAKE cards as they show love and caring. Almost ALL of them did...I guess they DO listen occasionally!! Home made shows LOVE

My 4 year old grandson has more fun with paper airplanes than anything we have ever bought him other than a ball. Glad everyone is enjoying themselves.

Speaking of home-made, I have a tremendous amount of scrapbooking paper, etc. that I don't have time to do anything with. I'll get some pictures and post if anyone is interested.

Good Morning Everyone - Happy Valentines Day?? I have a class full of 10 year olds dressed like the folks from Hee Haw (we are doing a school wide play today) and to top things off the school board decided it would be good to combine it with GRANDPARENTS DAY!! Sorry, small intermission - caught the boys blacking out their front teeth with NAIL POLISH - will have to explain that to someone.... Grandparents will come to class with us after the play to watch me teach....Oh Joy - It is a half day for the kids but we have to stay until 6 for a meeting..... Please Pray I keep my sanity (and my job) !!!

My Chocolates laid again this morning - 4 eggs in 2 days !!

Hope they hatch!!!!

On the homemade valentines cards, my kids were in school back when you could bring homemade baked goods, so we made large heart shaped sugar cookies, and wrote each childs name on their cookie in royal frosting. Those were the valentines my kids took to school each year. The teacher got a humongous one.

I think I'm going to make valentine sugar cookies this weekend, now that you reminded me of them. I still have that awesome recipe....

Well, I find this sad. Out of my sons preschool class of 15 kids, he was the only one who made is own valentines. All the rest where store bought or candy.

Good for him. I would take homemade over store bought any day. I still have the cards/gifts my kids made me when they were little. They are now 18 and 24.

We made ours last night. We broke up a ton of crayons into small pieces and put them into some valentines molds in the oven @200 for 15 minutes let them cool and had special valentines crayons for everyone. We printed a little card which he signed. Have no idea what valentines he'll get though.

that sounds like a lot of fun! We cut out a ton of hearts, painted them, and pipe cleaner hearts and glued them to construction paper cards . Then we made little pompom "love bugs" and tucked them under the pipe cleaner hearts. I asked my son to write out

And then I scanned it so he didn't have to write it 15 times. He was very proud.

My sons party is tomorrow. He's been printing off chicken valentines off the Internet, so kinda homemade. Bet he's the only one that has chicken everything. Even his valentines day box is a CHICKEN made from a shipping box. If he could get me to do it he would want chicken candies to hand out too!

I would want a chicken valentine!

PM me with it, please. I am always on the lookout for a good sugar cookie recipe. I had a fabulous one with a little bit of spice that stayed soft but lost it in a move. I've been looking for one similar ever since.
