I did not set mine, I put them in the trash. The insides were just too messed up. :O(

RIR's are very popular here. My hens are laying, but my Rooster is not doing his job. So I have eggs from Jim hatching today and I am hoping to replace his old butt. Plus I only have two hens and those two ladies cannot meet with all the calls I get for them. Oddly I get more calls looking for Delaware then any other chicken I have. When I had them, I got no orders for them. Go figure

My three "not-popular" girls are laying every single day. RIR, BR and a greenleg hatch.
same thing with our weather though. We have a chance of snow Saturday, and the extended forecast for the folllowing Saturday is 70F. Sooo ready for the hot muggy summers. I think I got the very same package also, same wrap, same scramble. Air cells were a mess. Threw out half immediately. The 4 i decided to try sat upright for a day, then I put them in the incubator, not turning, sitting upright. I will look at them tomorrow and either throw them out or start turning with them staying upright.

I'm having the issue of the drastic weather changes affecting my girls' laying also. The only reliable layers right now are my Salmon Favs and my Buttercups. The Blues are hothouse flowers and slow down about a week after any extended cold. My laying pen out of 7 of laying age are giving me anything from 1 to 4 eggs a day. Come on summer! We are supposed to stay in 30's to 40's which chance of snow flurries all the way through Saturday. I hate it.

A nice cool day here in fl for my 28th birthday

Had a chick die last night in a grow out pen (buff leghorn pullet ) and the other chicks kind of dismembered it so that was a yucky and lousy day to start the day. I only have one buff leghorn pullet left that I am certain of, but I am thinking there may be one more with a bigger comb. The cockerels are all starting have the combs turn red, and this one is not turning red and its slightly smaller so, maybe I will get a trio out of these guys. I has hopin for a quad minimum, but I will take
