I always felt a little odd when the turkeys humped while I was there... usually the hens would submit to me while I was petting them, then the toms would take advantage and hop aboard while I was still petting. Or, if I squat to watch birds, the one tom will dance circles around me... like, thanks, Hoov, but umm, no thanks?!

A nice cool day here in fl for my 28th birthday

Had a chick die last night in a grow out pen (buff leghorn pullet

) and the other chicks kind of dismembered it

so that was a yucky and lousy day to start the day. I only have one buff leghorn pullet left that I am certain of, but I am thinking there may be one more with a bigger comb. The cockerels are all starting have the combs turn red, and this one is not turning red and its slightly smaller so, maybe I will get a trio out of these guys. I has hopin for a quad minimum, but I will take

Yea, same with the Peacocks - Hubby thinks its funny.... I on the other hand could do with out the attention

Always worry my crazy neighbor will take pictures and I will be the latest YouTube sensation or it would be on Facebook or something.....

I'm off to Portland again! Man I can't wait until this house is sold and I only have to go into town for date nights and kids parties! I like being in the middle of nowhere until I have to go somewhere.

Hope y'all have a great day! The babies I thought were not going to make an appearance are starting to pop on out. Hopefully I have a full bator when I get home!

Happy Birthday!

I DID get a refund from the lady who shipped me the horribly packed eggs. I tried not to sound ugly, but I did tell her that it was a packing problem and her response to me was that she receives eggs from Duane Urch all the time packed the same way! Ughhhhh! So, she messaged me and said she had refunded my money. I tried to message back to say thank you and I hoped she had better luck packing in the future, but she had blocked me. Ah well. Good riddance.

Now I have gold Neck D'uccle birds in the mail lost somewhere between Georgia and Louisiana. Apparently the USPS hasn't seen them since Tuesday when they were scanned in. I can't intervene and drive to Shreveport like I normally would since even Shreveport has no idea where they are. They better be here by morning and ALIVE!! She added some treats so maybe they'll make it.

I received some SQ Porcelain D'uccles in yesterday. Two pair. Hubby is in love. Mr. Macho Redneck sat in the run with them in his lap for half the evening talking to them. LOL

I put 39 eggs in Lock Down last night! They were from Papa Brooder and TNbearchick - Now the wait begins!! I candled before lock down and all were moving, but some had more "moving room" than others. Almost as if they could use another day or two in the incubator. I put them all in at the same time so I put them in lock down at the same time. Hope I did the right thing .... Always something to worry about!

they will be alright, doesn"t hurt for them to go into lockdown a day or so early
