Good morning, everyone. Congrats Mzstre on the OD. I am so hoping the three you sent me hatch!

TN, love the kids.

Gabble, wonderful birds. Who else, oh yeah.

DM, good luck on the solid black rock. I have some on Brookhavens coming. I am excited. There is no comparison between my poor ratty hatchery BR and those!

MZ its not to tell if they are laying, Its a check to see if they are close to or could be laying. The pelvic bones open when they are close to or arelaying and close together at the end of laying season

Everyone,
I need some help again. I am returning the incubator I just bought. After three days of running it trying to get temp stable, one of the motors starting making a horrendous racket. I don't want to chance it.

I don't want to spend too much right now because of making the cabinet incubator, but I want something that is going to be reliable for small hatches and with auto turn and air which I don't have right now.

I can get a Brower Top Hatch locally for $160 or order a Genesis for $200 or so. The Genesis will take a while to get here. What is my best option? Or do you have another suggestion? I am open to all possibilities. I just need to get something in the next week before all my spring eggs start arriving.

Good news/bad news. Got my first Mottled Houdan egg yesterday! Yeah! Bad news! DH dropped it and broke it.

Amazing so many birds decided yesterday was a good day for first eggs.

I will be building coop/pen this weekend to separate them, checking fertility and then start catching up on some orders. Hurray! I'm getting some more U of A eggs next Friday and am going to hatch a few more of these so I will have more than a trio. I didn't realize how popular they would be. However, it will be a long time before I can offer more than 3 at a time unless I can find some hens local as everyone says 8 mos. for POL on this breed.

By the way, for anyone that is waiting on these just an FYI they FLY! I am amazed. Mine all fly instead of run to catch up with the flock. The only other chickens I have had do that were my Hamburgs.

I can't get on facebook at work. If someone else would check for me, I would be eternally grateful and might send some extra goodies in their next swap box. MH? hint, hint see prior posting.

Do they need to be ordered through FB, or would I just call and mention it?
