I don't think that light one is a splash does anyone else? I got the all elusive SOLID BLACK CHICK

I need more eggs..... need more blacks

There is one more chick that had some leg issues.

Lucky you on the black. Out of 3 hatches I still haven't gotten one. The light blue I can almost bet will turn into a blue barred. At least 2 of mine have. The splashes are more yellow like the one in the right hand corner here:

Yeah I didn't think it was a splash. Too even in color really. You think barred? I don't see a spot????? I see one more that does not have a spot. I am supposed to get a black roo one of these days

What color chicks do you get if you cross a buff brahma roo with a light brahma hen? I some eggs in the incubator and I am wondering what they will look like. Does anyone know?

Whatever they look like, they will be sex-linked. I suspect the males will be light and the females will be a really pale buff as the white isnt completely domient...but take what I am saying with a grain of salt as I just took an Ambien and can barely see straight.

of course! Just kinda weird...they aren't due til saturday....may start putting them into lockdown around 4 or 5 days before due...my inkie temps are right on the button.

donno why but my eggs are consistently hatching at 20 days instead of 21. I know my temps are good. the eggs have been smaller eggs...could that make them run out of room sooner?

Donna & Shellie - meet the chick from the waxed egg! I am so amazed it hatched. I wish I would have taken a picture of the egg...it was more wax than shell!

BM6.................. I would be searching for a hidden nest, I know people north of you with eggs now. Have you checked the girls to see how close they are to laying?



The baby goats are way too cute, our older momma goat here looks HUGE, hubby thinks she is close now with her recent shape change.

I am so excited! I went and picked up my Heritage Plymouth Barred Rocks early b/c of the snow, and even though they are a bit muddy and dirty....WOW! I love these guys so much!
