They are also extremely friendly! Some of our chickens aren't exactly thrilled with the attention my son likes to lavish on them, so he's been trying to steal the hearts of my turkeys. I don't like to share too much of my turkey love, so I got the trio to displace some of his need. Now we just have to get them here and settled.

He is really loving our Aseels too. Bean our young cockerel is so super friendly. We sold all except Bean and two pullets back to the guy we raised them for. He plans to bring more, but I wanted three left for breeding. Bean is always jumping up to see what I have. Literally he bounces over and over. Never seen anything like it. He's just too funny.

I know! I can't wait for mine to be laying!!! :ya

I recently purchase a Basque trio and was wondering if there was any interest in swaps for their eggs?
It wouldn"t hurt my feelings if you sent some with my other eggs

Good news/bad news. Got my first Mottled Houdan egg yesterday! Yeah! Bad news! DH dropped it and broke it.

Amazing so many birds decided yesterday was a good day for first eggs.

I will be building coop/pen this weekend to separate them, checking fertility and then start catching up on some orders. Hurray! I'm getting some more U of A eggs next Friday and am going to hatch a few more of these so I will have more than a trio. I didn't realize how popular they would be. However, it will be a long time before I can offer more than 3 at a time unless I can find some hens local as everyone says 8 mos. for POL on this breed.

By the way, for anyone that is waiting on these just an FYI they FLY! I am amazed. Mine all fly instead of run to catch up with the flock. The only other chickens I have had do that were my Hamburgs.

I will certainly see what I can do! I need to get them here first. They are currently with a fellow BYC member who was generous enough to pick them up for me. Now I just need to go for a road trip to get them. Napoleon is still pretty poed about being locked away from his fav girl, but Black Betty is a black Minorca. We are striving for pures here right now. Screwball rooster.

I am so confused

I was gone all morning. My dog was on his run outside. I get home and he has found two large white eggs. They seem a little older 2+ weeks.
Why is this weird?
I don't have any large white laying chickens!
I can only guess its the salmon faverolles? I didn't think they where laying yet, but I guess they could be laying. However I would think they would be a little tinted, an these are white.

:blarney

Where'd these come from!!??
