Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I have a regular customer who wants to buy 50+ Merans and 50+ cochins and I can't find eggs........ They would take chicks, but I can't find them either.....

I never hold anything unless its for a friend. I've been yelled at, cursed at, etc for it, but before, I had dozens that were claimed, but never picked up. And, ya know what? Curse me out? I don't think I want my critters going to you anyways.

One of my students(9 years old) came up to me yesterday (they all know we have chickens) and asked me how many roosters I could sell him. I naturally said, "Roosters? Why roosters?" He told me all of his got beat up and died. Geez....so I knew then they were into fighting.

I just shook my head at him and told him there was no way I was going to sell or give him any roosters he was going to go fight illegally! Redneck---it's so deep in the veins that even 8 year olds want to fight roosters.

we're a redneck family, but thank god our family has compassion. I am one of those nuts that is fascinated by butchering, the blood and all, but seeing a living animal (or person) in pain? Not on my wish list.

She wants so many because when she changes breeds she does it in a big way. If she buys straight run, she wants to make sure she gets enough hens and then sells the roosters. She usually only wants 20 or 25. She is a little eccentric..... I have students want to buy chicks all the time. When I ask where they are going to keep them, it is usually in their bedroom!! So, I do sell a few to parents, but never make deals with the students....Ha!
Are there still places that still ALLOW fighting, or is it one of those back woods hidden things???

Off to the feed store and to pick up chickens at the post office (that still sounds funny) Hope everyone has a GREAT AND BLESSED DAY!!

Now I see why people ask for payment up front.... grrr

I never hold chicks or chickens for anyone unless they have been here before and bought. Even then I rarely hold them, I have been shambled a few times holding birds. Now it is first come first serve or you pre-pay and if I end up not being able to fill your order I refund your money, but if you decide you no longer want them there is no refund, cause then I have birds that I have to feed and find new homes for. Sounds kinda harsh, but when you have so many no shows or cancel's then you start doing it.

Bettacreek: I also had people and a lady tell me off before. She told me off cause she came and got some of my scovies and that is one thing here I do not hold When I have babies I can't keep enough in stock they go so fast. Well anyway she came and bought a bunch and said she didn't have money for the rest, I told her I couldn't hold them but, if the listing was still up they were here. Well a month later she called and she asked about them and I told her they were sold but, I had some new ones. So she was mad but came out and bought some of the others. Then she found out I had some adults for sale, again she wanted me to hold her. This time I said ok, I will hold them but, no longer than 2 weeks, I tried to call her after I waited for a month and got no answer or calls back so I sold the adults I had for sale to make room for my new adults. A month later she called me back and when I told her I had sold them she was mader than a hornet. I kindly explained to her that I had already held them for a month for her and we had discussed 2 weeks. She was just now calling 2 months later.

Grrrr! I despise the post office sometimes. Dropped off eggs to be shipped and she would not (flat out refused) to scan the package in.
