My hubby is planning on having my new pens finished this weekend, so I can have everyone sorted and in their own home. But in the meantime, I snapped this picture the other day. It is a pic of a golden cuckoo maran roo and a choc orp. Bear in mind that the golden cuckoo is about a month older than the choc orp.

And oh my god! My nut bag African Grey has decided that today is the day she will whistle like a baby turkey as loudly as she can. I keep thinking one of the little buggers have gotten out. I think she needs something to do. She is such a %#¥€. I love her but still......

Thanks, everyone. It is just really hitting me now. I'm sitting at work holding back tears as well as I can. He is in his last semester of college as a computer engineer, had job interviews scheduled, and has worked his tail off to graduate in 4 years as a 21 year old and maintained a 3.3 GPA in a TOUGH major. He is taking it hard. I have been playing the upbeat, it will be OK cheerleader in front of him and his dad. I have to believe it will be OK. Please forgive me if I come on and vent every once in a while during this process.
Everyone,

I need to ask that for right now until further notice that no one ship any more eggs to me. My son has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease which is caused by a tumor on the pituitary. We are waiting to get in for an MRI to see how bad it is. It should have been caught 8 years ago when I first starting taking him to the doctor for his weight, but all they saw was a "fat" kid and said he needed to go on a diet and get more exercise. They didn't listen when I said he didn't eat junk food, drink sodas or even consume that many calories. I knew differently because this was a kid that had always been tall and light. He was always 98 percentile on height and about 25 percentile on his weight through his early years. Unfortunately we moved away from his pediatrician who would have noticed the difference. He is now 21 only 5' 4", and finally diagnosed after gaining 150 lbs in about a year and a half.

I will send all my swaps but until I know what is going to happen and how long the recovery is going to be I don't want to have to deal with brooder chicks after the ones I have coming in right now.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family! You have nothing to apologize for. Vent all you need. I had a friend who was diagnosed with Cushings right before college. They were able to remove the tumor by going in through her mouth/nasal cavity somehow. I pray that things go well for you and your son and pray for a speedy recovery!

So I went to check on my last batch of eggs, due to hatch this weekend, and I saw a foot. Yep there is a hole in the side and a foot sticking out! Has anybody ever had this happen? It is still alive so I am hoping he will pip normally and hatch. But I will keep an eye on him and help if needed.

I'm not sure how normal that is, but all I can say is that is kind of cute. I know, men shouldn't say such things, but really. lol

flocks did you get those eggs?

Yes, sorry!

I think I must be getting my mothers memory problems. They are all perfect. I find it really interesting the difference in the colors of turkey eggs. Midgets and BBWs have a almost white shell with large speckles, but all the other turkey eggs I've gotten the eggs are more cream to beige with tiny speckles. I wonder why the difference. It's kinda neat I can add some midget eggs and can always tell them apart. Very excited to see what developes.
