BTW be prepared to be stalked I have loved call ducks for so long but just don't have the room for any. I know they are small but they are just too loud and lets face it messy to live on .13 acres in the middle of town where my neighbors can see in my yard just by going on their second floor! BUT my mom just recently bought 40 acres and is dieing to move in and her husband is an animal finatic. I am sure I could convince him in getting a few adorable call ducks!! My mom won't like it but then her husband doesn't really listen he he he

In other news, my white Bresse rooster is crowing up a storm and having a time with his ladies. The white bresse hens are coming along nicely and should be laying within a month. Tonight I'm moving the black barthuhners to the main pen so the bresse rooster will loose a few hens in that process. But it means I can get some chicks out of the house!!!

This is pretty amazing -- I should take pictures but I don't want to disturb the little bugger again My olandsk dwarf egg that I completely crushed during move-over to the hatching bator? I was sure it was dead. I mean, that shell is pulverized. A good third of it is missing! Had to do an adjustment on the 'bator (I hate doing that but it was necessary) so I took the pulverized OD egg out and just for the heck of it I candled it. It's pipped internally! Little chickie head waving around in there.

Now I'm never gonna get to sleep tonight!

Well I am an idiot.

My daughter has been asking for a duck or two. Today while at the Asian market I saw that they had some. ( have you figured where this is going yet?) The tag said "baby duck eggs". So I bought 5. I got them home and candled them to check the air cells. Imagine my shock when I see that they had been incubated already, and then put in the refrigerated case.

A major mom failure. *sigh*

OH NO!!! Balut eggs!

I'm so addicted, someone make me stop lol! There is a farm not too far away that has some really pretty birds and they sell hatching eggs. They have Buff Laced Polish (some frizzled) that are just too adorable. These are absolutely NOT on my breed list. Someone talk me out of going to get them! This is not my pic; it is property of Pastime Farms in LA.

OH!!!!!! Lets talk my mom into them!!!! So when you DO have room for them you can just swing over there an get some from her!
