you "can" but know this DUCKS LIKE WATER, DUCKS LIKE WATER EVERYWHERE lololololol In the food, in the bedding, in them, on them, yep they like water

COF - I only have 2 ducklings and figured they would be really lonely by themselves, so I have them in with chicks.  I use nipple waterers in the brooder and they do fine with them (although they play with them a lot lol), but I do take them out at least 3 times per day to let them dunk their heads and play a bit.  They have been eating the chick starter.  Do you think they will get enough niacin if I feed them separately twice a day with the brewer's yeast sprinkled in their food?  I can feed them when I take them out for playtime.  I have more ducklings hatching out at the end of the week, so they will have like brooder mates then.

Okay I have to ask for those of you who ship live birds. I just contacted a breeder who I've been in touch with in the past about getting an adult bird or two from him. He said if I want them shipped that it's an extra $50 on top of the $70 he wants to charge for shipping because of the time it takes to label box and bring them to the PO. Is out crazy that I think that's crazy?!?!?!?! I never charge people for the time it takes me to pack eggs or bring them to the PO. MAYBE an extra $1-2 if I'm doing a large order that uses a ton of bubble wrap but $50?

That IS crazy!!!

ok, I have a problem...I had one little lone Blue Marans hatch yesterday, well being a dumb a** I put it in with some week old bantam chicks, went back 20 minutes later and they have pecked its head bloody and on closer inspection, a quarter to half of its upper beak has been torn off as well. It didn't even put out any distress chirps, or I would have caught it sooner... I put some blue kote on its head...is there anything I can do with its beak? will it grow back? do you think it will even survive?

Herducks,

I CANNOT wait for the trip! This is going to be awesome meeting a fellow BYCer and getting some more chicks!

CPL,

I am SO excited for the chicks I'll be getting! I cannot wait! Would you like me to put a little note on the box of the chickens that I send to you of what birds come back to me just so you have a reminder? I know you have A LOT on your plate right now.

I had a chick break off nearly half its beak, and amazingly, it grew back just fine. It took a while. I kept rough and sharp edges filed...I used a dremel tool for filing animal nails. :) We still have her. She's quite a sweetheart from getting so much attention. Not surprisingly, my kids named her Beaky.

So I got my truck back...$493, and my air bag is not fixed.

He fixed a selonoid that has been bad for 2 years, I had not replaced it because it was $250 just in parts and did not effect the driveability of the truck.
