Hi Crazypetlady - thank you!

As for ACV, around here the health food stores and local co-op sell the kind with Mother.

Happy Birthday and good wishes on your son's MRI!

Thanks for the information on how to make fermented feed - I"m going to try that out this year.

Chickens are omnivorous, and thrive on meat and/or milk proteins. Or insects, if you want to grow some (mealworms, crickets, worms).\

OK, going to keep reading and catching up now!

Hello

It's so good to be back, and a little scary too! I got so many eggs that didn't make it last fall, and so few live births

BUT, addicts can't be cured, eh?

I had to leave entirely, lol.

That Sweeter Heater looks interesting. So your chicks won't use it - does it look like they are afraid of it? Or does it not seem to warm them enough so they wander under and back out again?

Hey, Babymakes6, Hi! How are the pretty little d'Uccles doing? Mine are so pretty, and the one with the outlandish foot feathering is a little cockerel who is thriving. He has the weirdest coloring - half of him is mille fleur, and half black mottled! Do you think I could use him with my mottled girls and get reasonable results? I really like him (err...I like them all, but YOU know....)

ETA: Whoops! It's mstricer's d'Uccles I'm speaking of above - never mind, lol. Unless you do have advice!

They don't seem scared of it and it's low enough that it should heat them fine. They just won't use it. I'll have to put a heat lamp out there instead.

Ok, I give up. I have 3 egg packages that are missing, late whatever. Here is one of them. Please remember that I am in Florida. It left Phil, went to harrisburg, now back in Philadelphia??? I have another one that showed that it was in Jacksonville, FL on the 8th. When it hits there, I get it the same day. Still don't have it. I think maybe I am going to quit swapping for awhile, out of 5 boxes, I have received 2 of them.

I have had the same problem lately. Most of my eggs that I am getting aren't getting here until a week or 5 days.

Well, for a more cheery note...nearly three weeks ago, I got seventeen lovely blue BBS Ameraucana eggs from kraftyladies. I just moved them to lockdown...all seventeen of them! I will keep my fingers, toes, leg, and eyes crossed! I'm using a Hovabator for lockdown, and it's done well for this. I would be astounded to see a 100% hatch on shipped eggs, but it's possible!

Krafty, have you been able to get any information from the PO? Any?
