Looks like I am going to be up to my eyeballs in Dorking chicks in about 2 weeks. I just candled my Silver Dorkings from the U of A. Out of 16 eggs set 15 are developing. Can't tell on the Favs or Coronations, but at least two out of the 4 Houdans are going strong also.

Is anyone here good with the chicken calculator? You really have to be more than a genetics beginner to use it I think. I've got my Lav Ams in the mixed flock right now and there's a Basque roo in addition to the Lav Am roo. I'm curious how strange the Lav Am / Basque cross would be.

I did it using Crele roo and lav hen. Says black unicolor barred. Split lavender.

One of BM6 12 kids herducks dogs and my redneck chicken coop out front. We plan to paint it this year and finish the roof. It was a grain bin DH's grandpa made from wood on the farm. The Russian Orlaffs live out there

I couldn't sleep so I have gotten up to take an Ambien. (Countdown to not making any sense starts in T minus 15 minutes and counting.)
I have a bunch of Dorking chicks I just hatched out that I am going to put the chicks you are sending me in with...I wonder if husband will notice

I am beside myself wondering what the mystery chicks are. once I have them I am hoping it will be obvious or you will have pity on me and let me know, right?
