When my son raised hogs in 4H, he'd always raise an extra, we'd sell half and put half in the freezer.  The first thing to disappear was always the bacon.  It's too bad you can't just make bacon out of the whole pig! Lol

Technically you can! Bacon is cured pig. If its not cured its not bacon! In England they call our bacon streaky bacon. Their bacon is "Danish" or back bacon. Basically cured loin and tenderloin. It looks pretty much like a pork chop. It's typically made from the fore and hind ends so that the center can still be made into chops or lomo I you're me which is just more cured then dried loin. It's not typically smoked there though and if it is its cold smoked to preserve the integrity of the meat for cooking for the plate. Sort of like Canadian bacon except that's just the loin and usually the center and its typically cured and hot smoked.

Nope.... I wanted to try this indian restraunt one time though and hubby was like no way they make some of the hottest foods there is.  :gig I am game for trying new things, but I can't handle to spicy of foods it gets to my ashtma.

Grrrr...... Stinking  spell check keeps getting me.

Too bad you're not closer! Indian is one of my specialties and believe it or not most of their food is mild to not spicy at all. The English are partially to blame for some of the heat involved in those silly hot curries. Curry basically means gravy and there are TONS of regional ones in India. Masala means spice but as in flavor and not necessarily heat. I love making Indian food. I grow a great deal of the herbs that they use and dry some for te winter months. There's a FABULOUS website called vahrehvah.com that has really awesome authentic recipes. Highly recommend it!

You are going to help them get some and send them some more young girls because a guy needs someone to take over where he left off because of a hip replacement?

I usually try to keep it clean, but I just have to say that it reminds me of a viagra commercial!   :lau

Me thinks someone has been sipping from the liquor cabinet. Silly girl. Ain't no red light district around here unless its a heat lamp.

Thank you for that website! I love Indian food (and I don't like spicy hot food at all). I have to go out for it though. Now I can play with some recipes at home.

Yeah, I've spent quite a bit of time in England and I'm a streaky bacon kind of girl.  Give me a good pork belly...............there just isn't enough of it.  Now if the whole pig could be belly....:drool     After all, my mantra for meat.....................fat is flavor!

:gig I thought the whole pig was belly ;) now I want bacon. I haven't had dinner yet, can ya tell?
